The Garage Gym Guys are back and in the gym to discuss how a lifter can also become a runner. Brendon explains his past mistakes for 5K and Ironman training, how he overcame them with Myrtl and other routines, his thoughts on whether or not to use a program, how to set a path to success, and how to avoid injury on the way. Sean tries to keep Brendon on track and creatively links these running concepts to tried and true lifting concepts. Sean: The boy from Palo Alto talks about being bit by the weightlifting bug after reading Nebraska Football’s weight training program, along with earning his Crossfit Level 1 Cert, personal training in Chicago as a Grad Student, and his recent acceptance into Physical Therapy School. Brendon: The homegrown Midwest boy from Michigan talks about being a high school football player as well as swimmer, a scholarship athlete at Michigan State, competitive BJJ player / MMA, a triathlete and Ironman training, his time as a Navy Sailor and lessons learned from failing BUD/S, and his recent love affair with good ol’ fashioned weight training.
