Sromona Choudhury's story is one of ambition, self-discovery, and the courage to follow one’s dreams. Born and raised in Barrackpore, a small town in West Bengal, Sromona comes from a humble, salaried middle-class family. Both of her parents worked as government employees, and it was a given in her household that one day, she would follow in their footsteps and secure a stable job. However, deep down, Sromona always knew that her true calling lay elsewhere. From an early age, she was aware of her dual passions — a strong academic inclination and a budding desire to venture into the world of modelling. "I always knew that one day I would choose modelling over a 9-to-5 job," she confesses with a spark in her eyes. Her academic journey was no less impressive. A standout student, she graduated with a first-class degree in Economics from Calcutta University in 2013. Following that, Sromona pursued an MBA and embarked on a successful career in the corporate world. For the next seven and a half years, she worked as a recruiter with several top-tier companies, making strides in Human Resources. Yet, while excelling in her professional career, the pull of the fashion and modelling industry never faded.Sromona’s introduction to modelling happened in an unexpected way. In the second year of her undergraduate studies, she went for a portfolio shoot, a decision that would change her life. However, instead of becoming a model at that point, her face was selected to compete in face photography competitions by renowned artists. These prestigious events, both in India and internationally, allowed her to showcase her unique charm and photogenic appeal. It was a sign of things to come. While her corporate career continued to thrive, Sromona’s inner desire to embrace the modelling world never wavered. After years of balancing her 9-to-5 job with her passion for fashion and photography, she made a bold decision. In 2021, Sromona decided to step away from her corporate role and dedicate herself fully to the modelling industry. Her background in Bharatanatyam, which she has been practicing from a very young age, added another layer to her multifaceted personality. The discipline and grace she learned through dance, combined with her years of experience in front of the camera, made her comfortable and confident in her new venture. "I was never shy," she shares, "and my parents completely respect and support my choices."For Sromona, modelling isn’t just about glamorous photoshoots or runway shows — it’s about embracing her inner strength, embracing her passion, and trusting in fate and karma. Her belief in spirituality has played a vital role in her journey, providing her with the resilience to face challenges head-on. "I believe everything happens for a reason, and I’ve learned to trust the process," she explains. Her interests outside of modelling and dance are just as diverse. A lover of history, Sromona is known to indulge in history trivia, often surprising friends and family with her vast knowledge on the subject. She is also a fan of TV series and romantic comedy movies, always keeping up with the latest entertainment trends. And, as if that weren't enough, Sromona also has a flair for painting — a hidden talent that complements her artistic nature.Today, as she continues to build her career in the modelling industry, Sromona stands as a beacon of determination and authenticity. She is proof that following your heart, regardless of societal expectations or conventional career paths, can lead to unparalleled fulfillment and success. Her journey is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance — and her story is just beginning. As Sromona Choudhury steps confidently into her future, there's no doubt that she will continue to inspire countless others to chase their dreams, no matter where they come from.

Women’s empowerment must focus on various aspects that contribute to the overall well-being and advancement of women in society. This approach encompasses multiple dimensions, including education, economic independence, mental health awareness, and challenging societal norms. Education serves as a Foundation for Empowerment.Educating girls is crucial not only for their personal development but also for the progress of society as a whole. By advocating for equal access to education, a nation can aim to dismantle barriers that prevent girls from achieving their full potential.By promoting economic opportunities for women, financial independence is essential for women to make choices about their lives and contribute meaningfully to their families and communities. This includes advocating for fair wages, entrepreneurship training, and access to resources that enable women to start businesses. It is important to challenge many societal perceptions that perpetuate gender inequality and discrimination against women. Addressal of issues such as domestic violence, stigma around survivors, and the need for legal reforms that protect women’s rights is a must . By raising awareness about these topics, a country can aim to foster empathy and understanding within communities.By recognizing the psychological toll of societal pressures on women, advocacy for mental health awareness must be a part of empowerment initiatives. This includes open discussions about mental health challenges faced by women and encourages supportive environments where individuals can seek help without stigma. Empowerment through Self-Expression is a must among women as a means of empowerment. Storytelling and creative writing can serve as powerful tools for women to articulate their experiences, assert their identities, and inspire others. Women’s empowerment includes emphasizing on education, economic independence, challenging societal norms, mental health awareness, self-expression through literature, and fostering community support among women which aims to create an environment where all women can thrive and achieve their full potential. "Women need to perceive themselves in a more powerful manner to step up as thought leaders and take the lead in all important pieces of women empowerment in human history. Justice programming must therefore strive to be inclusive, meaning that no woman can be denied justice appropriate to individual and circumstantial circumstances...." -©®Mayaa SH
