Descripción

A month ago, I set out to interview seven women in business. What I thought would be a series about entrepreneurship, leadership, money, and success quickly became something much deeper. Over the course of these conversations, I found myself listening less for business strategies and more for the life lessons hiding underneath them. Different industries. Different decades. Different personalities. Yet the same themes kept showing up again and again: resilience, family, responsibility, courage, mentorship, adaptability, and the willingness to keep moving before feeling ready. In this Women in Business Series Wrap-Up, I'm sharing the six biggest lessons these remarkable women taught me—not just about building businesses, but about building meaningful lives. If you've ever wondered whether you're on the right path, whether it's too late to start something new, or what success really looks like in this season of life, I think you'll find something here for yourself. In This Episode: * Why nobody followed a straight path * The power of "do it scared" * Why the hardest part isn't the business * Family as a driving force behind success * The surprising traits these women shared * Mentorship, legacy, and lifting others up * What this series taught me about my own next chapter Follow & Connect Living on the Virg is a lifestyle podcast about real life—the fun parts, the messy parts, and what they're trying to teach us. The State of the Virg

We're officially halfway through 2026, and instead of setting new goals, I decided to look backward. I read all 44 podcast transcripts from the first half of the year expecting to find a list of accomplishments. Instead, I found a story. In this episode, I'm reflecting on what six months of journaling, podcasting, faith, health goals, Women in Business interviews, Camp Nana, ordinary Tuesdays, and everyday life have quietly taught me. We talk about: * Why my word of the year, Alignment, ended up meaning something completely different than I expected. * How systems stopped being about productivity and started creating peace. * Why this podcast finally found its voice. * The surprising lesson I learned from looking back instead of always looking ahead. * And why I can honestly say... I like June Virginia. If you've ever wondered whether you're actually growing—or if growth is simply happening too gradually to notice—I hope this conversation reminds you to look back once in a while. Sometimes the biggest changes don't happen all at once. Sometimes they happen one ordinary day at a time. Key Takeaways • Alignment changed from a goal into a way of living. • Systems create peace—not just productivity. • The podcast didn't need a niche. It needed honesty. • Protecting your calm is just as important as chasing your goals. • Growth usually reveals itself only when we stop long enough to look back. • Ordinary life is worth paying attention to. #LivingOnTheVirg #PersonalGrowth #MidYearReflection #Alignment #IntentionalLiving #WomenOver50 #SelfReflection #LifeLessons #Mindset #Podcast Follow up on YouTube! Life Lately

This week we're simply catching up. Life has been surprisingly quiet lately, and instead of rushing to fill every minute, I've found myself enjoying the slower pace. In this Friday episode I'm sharing what's been working lately—from cooking at home, getting consistent with the gym, simplifying my health routine, staying on top of our budget, and finally realizing that not every project has to become an all-day event. Then we're heading back to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico for more travel stories, catching up on my latest reality TV obsessions, and wrapping up with a fantastic Elton John tribute concert at Europa Village. Sometimes the best weeks aren't the busiest ones. What You'll Hear in This Episode • Why quiet weeks have become some of my favorite weeks • Health & wellness update (Down 5 lbs and counting!) • My new grocery shopping challenge that's saving money and making meals more fun • Learning to simplify my fitness and nutrition routine • The 30-minute pantry reset that taught me a bigger lesson • What surprised me most about Old San Juan, Puerto Rico • Reality TV roundup: Love Island, 90 Day Fiancé & The Last Resort • Winos on the Virg: Elton John Tribute at Europa Village Takeaway Sometimes life doesn't need to be exciting to be meaningful. There's something deeply satisfying about getting your routines in place, enjoying your own company, and discovering that contentment often lives in the ordinary moments. #LivingOnTheVirg #LifeLately #LifestylePodcast #WomenOver50 #HealthyLiving #WeightLossJourney #PuertoRico #OldSanJuan #RealityTV #LoveIsland #90DayFiance #TravelPodcast #TemeculaWineCountry #WineLife #PersonalGrowth #PodcastLife #EverydayLife #WomenOver60 #Midlife #FridayVibes Follow up on YouTube! The Responsible One: How Being the Oldest Child Followed Me Into Adulthood

After revisiting a book about birth order, Virginia found herself wondering how much of her personality was simply who she is—and how much was shaped by growing up as the oldest child. In this episode, she explores the gifts and challenges of being "the responsible one," from helping raise younger siblings to managing a household, raising four boys, hosting Camp Nana, and stepping into leadership roles without even realizing it. Along the way, she uncovers a deeper question: What happens when being useful becomes part of your identity? This conversation explores responsibility, family roles, authentic connection, Me Mondays, and the surprising difference between being needed and being loved. Episode Highlights * What birth order theory says about oldest children * Growing up as the oldest sibling * The strengths that come with being dependable * Why responsibility can become part of our identity * Camp Nana and the tendency to over-own experiences * The difference between being needed and being loved * Why Me Monday isn't really about time * Learning that responsibility is only one part of who we are #LivingOnTheVirg #BirthOrder #OldestChild #OldestDaughterSyndrome #FamilyDynamics #SelfReflection #PersonalGrowth #LifeLessons #WomenOver50 #WomenOver60 #PodcastLife #Grandparenting #Identity #PersonalDevelopment #ResponsibleOne Follow up on YouTube! Camp Nana: What Kids Actually Remember

What started as a simple sleepover quickly spiraled into a full-blown Nana Summer Staycation Adventure Camp complete with opening ceremonies, scorecards, medals, Nana Bucks, a Nana Store, soccer competitions, water balloons, and one very overcommitted camp commissioner. In this episode, I'm sharing the story behind Camp Nana, what surprised me most about Ethan and Zeke, and the lessons I learned from spending two uninterrupted days together. We talk about competition, kindness, honesty, family traditions, and why the things kids remember are often very different from the things adults spend so much time worrying about. Along the way you'll hear directly from the boys themselves as they reflect on MVP awards, athletic achievement, Nana Bucks, string cheese controversies, and why Camp Nana earned a rating of 20 out of 10...and 200 million. Sometimes the most meaningful memories come from the simplest moments. #LivingOnTheVirg #PodcastLife #StorytellingPodcast #RealLifeConversations #LifeInProgress #CampNana #MakingMemories #GrandparentLife #FamilyTraditions #SummerMemories #NanaLife #Grandkids #ConnectionOverPerfection #WhatKidsRemember #FamilyStories Follow up on YouTube! Some weeks are full of big milestones. Other weeks are full of small wins that quietly change everything. I'm also giving a health and wellness update, talking honestly about gaining weight after months of travel, and sharing what's helping me get back into a consistent routine without waiting for motivation to magically appear. Plus: 🍷 Winos on the Virg: Masia de la Vinya Winery ✈️ Travel on the Virg: Puerto Rico and Palm Springs highlights 📺 Reality on the Virg: Housewives, documentaries, Love Island, and Law & Order And somewhere along the way, we'll talk about why life has been feeling a little lighter lately—even though not much on the surface has changed. #LivingOnTheVirg #LifestylePodcast #WomenOver50 #WomenOver60 #PodcastLife #RealLife #LifeLately #MidlifeReflections #HealthyLiving #IntentionalLiving #TravelOnTheVirg #PuertoRicoTravel #PalmSpringsLife #TravelStories #WinosOnTheVirg #TemeculaWineCountry #MasiaDeLaVinya #WineLover #CaliforniaWine #RealityOnTheVirg #RealityTV #BravoTV #Housewives #RHOC #RHORI #RHOBH #RealHousewives #LoveIslandUSA #SummerHouse #BravoAddict #BravoFans #LawAndOrder #TrueCrimeDocumentary #MichaelJacksonDocumentary Follow up on YouTube!
