One of my favorite childhood movies was the animated dog movie Balto, the story about an outcast wolfdog who leads a sled dog team carrying an antitoxin across the vicious Alaskan wilderness toward Nome to save a small town from death. Early on I knew this movie was dramatized and some of its components were not true to history. This movie is based off of a true story, but scrolling through Reddit made me realize that there was far more details to the story of Balto. There is also the story of Togo, another sled dog who led a separate team who's musher became upset that they didn't get the spotlight. In this episode, I break down the true events of that journey through the Alaskan wilderness, and preparing myself for the new Disney+ movie. I'm nervous, lol. Enjoy!
