La question surgit chaque fois qu’un Trump ou une Meloni accède au pouvoir, car ils multiplient les propos racistes, sexistes et homophobes. Cependant, tous les gouvernements de droite ont plus ou moins recours à ce genre de rhétorique réactionnaire. Sont-ils pour autant « fascistes » ? Non. Ou alors ce terme ne désigne plus rien de précis.Il nous faut une caractérisation scientifique du fascisme. Autrement dit, on doit comprendre sa dynamique de classe. Le fascisme est un mouvement pro-capitaliste. Les partis fascistes qui, le siècle dernier, ont pris le pouvoir en Italie, en Espagne et en Allemagne, ont été soutenus par la grande bourgeoisie de ces pays. Une fois au pouvoir, ils ont donné à la domination du grand Capital un caractère « pur », c’est-à-dire barbare.La fonction historique du fascisme, c’est précisément la destruction complète de toutes les organisations de la classe ouvrière : partis de gauche, syndicats, associations, etc. Mais pour y parvenir, la bourgeoisie ne peut pas seulement s’appuyer sur son appareil d’Etat (la police et l’armée). Elle doit aussi mobiliser, discipliner et armer une masse de petits-bourgeois désespérés, pour les projeter contre les organisations ouvrières.
