Episode 4 - 2020: A Dumpster Fire in Review

In this week's episode of Slap That Ask! the team reviews the 2020 year and the wild and crazy events that made this a year we all wish to forget. Join MartiniRita, MillennialMotivator, ExiledInvestor, RedepemptionTrades, and special guest GosFather as they review 2020 month by month for a refresher of what of some of the events many of us may have already forgotten in such an impactful year. This topic was requested in our Discord chat by several members of our community and while we think we did a pretty good job of covering the basics, we're happy to follow up with a second episode if you think there's more we can add. Leave a comment below and let us know what you think, if we missed your question, or if you've got any other suggestions or feedback you think we'd like to hear! Episode 3 - Trading Psychology, FOMO, Mental Tricks & Traps

In this week's episode of Slap That Ask! the team discusses the psychology of trading, FOMO, and the techniques and habits we've formed that help us and hinder us in our investing journeys. Join MartiniRita, MillennialMotivator, ExiledInvestor and RedepemptionTrades as they talk about greed, fear, risk appetites and the role mentality plays in trading. **PLEASE NOTE** Due to technical difficulties in the great white north, MillennialMotivator was unable to join us on camera and was forced to leave early. At least, that's the story he's telling us, we're not entirely convinced he hasn't joined a collective of superheroes who travel Canada solving mysteries and dispensing justice with a double denim twist, but we'll believe him this one time. He also asked us to reassure you that he's as handsome as ever and will return in video format at some point soon if the mail man carrying his new camera doesn't get chased by a Moose. Episode 2 - 2020: The year of the IPO and the SPAC boom

2020 has been a record breaking year for IPOs in the US, with over 400 companies going public - and that's before December's slew of new listings from companies like DoorDash, Affirm, Wish.com, C3.ai, and more. With so many companies looking to go public and unprecedented liquidity in the market, it's a good time to reflect on what's driving the IPO boom, the market conditions that are proving favorable and the performance of newly listed public companies. Are these safe investments or risky business? Speaking of risky plays, 2020 has also given us the meteoric rise of the SPAC listing and reverse merger. SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies) are seen as a fast way to get to the public markets, streamlining the listing process and side-stepping a lot of complexity and regulation. We've seen a record breaking number of SPAC listings this year with more to come before 2021 arrives. In this episode the team talks about the viability of these companies, the lack of lessons learned from the documentary movie 'The China Hustle' and the prevailing sentiment both in the markets and our community that surrounds SPACs and reverse mergers of both domestic and foreign origin. Fair warning, there's some strong opinions and language. Also, we're not licensed financial advisors or planners. Anything we talk about in this podcast is strictly for the purposes of conversation and under no circumstances should be construed as advice. Any investment carries risk with it, and you should conduct your own due diligence or hire a professional before making any trades or investments.
