Descripción

Romans 8:13 is not a gentle suggestion. It's a battle cry. Paul doesn't tell believers to manage sin, tolerate sin, negotiate with sin, or coexist with sin. He says, "Put to death the deeds of the body." That's warfare language. Because Scripture understands something we often forget: sin is never harmless. It never stays contained. It never stops where it starts. If left unchecked, it spreads into every area of life, robbing us of peace, intimacy with God, spiritual sensitivity, and freedom.  Too many Christians want victory while continuing to tolerate compromise. They want intimacy with God while feeding the flesh. They want freedom while protecting the very things keeping them in bondage. But Paul reminds us that sin isn't something to play with. It's something to put to death. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths about fighting sin: 1. Sin Always Wants More — Sin never stays satisfied. What starts as a small compromise eventually seeks greater control, greater influence, and greater territory. 2. Tolerated Sin Becomes Strongholds — Strongholds rarely begin dramatically. They are built through repeated compromises, ignored conviction, and delayed repentance. 3. The Spirit Empowers The Fight — Victory over sin isn't found in trying harder. It's found in depending on the Holy Spirit, who empowers believers to walk in freedom and holiness. We'll also discuss why compromise is so dangerous, how strongholds are formed, and what it looks like to wage Spirit-empowered warfare against the flesh. If you've been managing a sin that God is calling you to kill, this episode is for you. Because sin is not something to babysit. It's something to crucify. For Men | Virtue One: Resolve | Daniel 1:8 | The Virtues of Daniel

Today is Independence Day, and across America we'll celebrate freedom with flags, fireworks, and cookouts. But Daniel 1 reminds us there's another kind of freedom that's even more important—spiritual freedom. Because you can live in a free country and still be enslaved by lust, approval, fear, anger, or compromise. The greatest threat to a man isn't losing political freedom. It's losing spiritual conviction. And once conviction disappears, compromise isn't far behind.  Daniel was just a teenager when Babylon tried to reshape his life. They changed his name, immersed him in a new worldview, isolated him from godly influence, and pressured him to conform. Babylon wasn't simply trying to change where Daniel lived—it was trying to change who Daniel was. The strategy hasn't changed. Culture is still trying to redefine identity, replace truth, and remove godly influence. But before Daniel ever sat at the king's table, he had already settled the issue in his heart. He resolved. In this episode, we unpack three gritty truths about biblical resolve: 1. Resolve Your Convictions Before Culture Challenges Them — Don't wait until temptation arrives to decide who you're going to be. Conviction is settled before pressure ever comes. 2. Small Compromises Create Big Captivities — The enemy rarely asks for everything at once. He starts with one small compromise because little compromises eventually shape lifelong allegiances. 3. Your Identity Must Be Stronger Than Your Environment — Daniel lived in Babylon, but Babylon never lived in Daniel. You can live in culture without letting culture live in you. Ultimately, Daniel points us to Jesus—the perfectly faithful Son who never compromised. Where we have failed, Christ remained obedient. And through His grace, He doesn't just forgive compromising men; He creates men of conviction. How Men Build Resolve: * Decide before you're tested. Don't negotiate with temptation.  * Stay rooted in God's Word. Convictions grow where Scripture is planted.  * Surround yourself with resolved men. Compromise is contagious. So is courage.  * Practice obedience in small things. Big faithfulness begins with little faithfulness.  Because the men who change culture... are usually the men culture could never change. #90 | All Things Work Together | Romans 8:28 | The Great 8

Romans 8:28 is one of the most quoted verses in the entire Bible—and one of the most misunderstood. You'll find it on coffee mugs, T-shirts, Instagram captions, hospital room walls, and funeral programs. But many people misread what Paul is actually saying. He doesn't say all things are good. Cancer isn't good. Divorce isn't good. Abuse isn't good. Loss isn't good. Death isn't good. Paul isn't calling every circumstance good. He's declaring that God is so sovereign, so wise, and so powerful that He can take even the darkest chapters of our lives and weave them together for His good purposes.  The Greek word Paul uses for "work together" is synergeo, where we get the word synergy. It's the picture of many different ingredients coming together to produce one beautiful outcome. Alone, the ingredients may seem meaningless—or even unpleasant. But in the hands of the Master, nothing is wasted. God is working behind the scenes while we only see one page of the story. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths from Romans 8:28: 1. God Is Working Through It — Even when you can't see His hand, God hasn't stopped working. He's active in every victory, every setback, every heartbreak, and every unanswered prayer. 2. God's Good Is Greater Than Your Comfort — God's definition of "good" isn't an easier life. It's a life that looks more like Jesus. He's more committed to your character than your comfort. 3. God Never Wastes A Season — Every delay, every disappointment, every trial, and every waiting season matters. God is weaving together a story that's bigger than what you can currently see. Ultimately, the greatest picture of Romans 8:28 is the cross itself. What looked like the greatest tragedy in history became the greatest victory. If God could bring salvation from a cross, He can bring purpose from your pain. Final Application: * What situation in your life feels confusing right now? * What disappointment still hurts? * What prayer remains unanswered? * Can you trust that God is still working—even when you cannot see how? Because all things are not good. But God is. And He is working all things together for good. #89 | When You Don't Know What To Pray | Romans 8:26-27 | The Great 8

Have you ever been so overwhelmed that you didn't even know what to pray? Not because your faith disappeared. Not because you stopped trusting Jesus. But because the weight of what you were carrying was simply too heavy for words. Maybe it was sitting in a hospital room. Receiving devastating news. Walking through deep grief. Battling anxiety. Or carrying a burden you couldn't even explain. If you've ever sat in silence before God, wondering what to say, Romans 8:26–27 is for you. Paul reminds us that in our weakest moments, the Holy Spirit doesn't step back—He steps in. He helps us. He intercedes for us. And when our words run out, He keeps praying.  The Christian life isn't about always having the perfect prayer. It's about knowing the perfect Helper. Even when all you have is a sigh, a tear, or a whispered "help," heaven is listening because the Spirit is already interceding on your behalf. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths about prayer in our weakness: 1. Weakness Isn't The Enemy — God often does His deepest work in the places where we feel the weakest. Your weakness may be the very place God displays His strength. 2. The Spirit Intercedes For Us — When words fail, the Spirit doesn't. He takes our tears, sighs, and groans and intercedes perfectly before the Father. 3. The Spirit Never Misses God's Will — We pray imperfectly, but the Spirit prays perfectly. Even when we're confused, heaven isn't. God is never uncertain about your situation. Ultimately, Jesus understands what it means to suffer. He prayed in Gethsemane. He cried out from the cross. And because of His death and resurrection, you never have to carry your burdens—or your prayers—alone. Final Application: * What situation in your life feels too heavy for words right now? * What burden have you struggled to pray about? * Bring it to God anyway—even if all you have is a tear, a sigh, a groan, or a whispered "help." Because even when words fail... the Spirit never does. #88 | Groaning for Glory | Romans 8:19-26 | The Great 8

Have you ever looked around at the world and thought, "This can't be how it's supposed to be?" You watch the news. You attend funerals. You hear cancer diagnoses. You see broken families. You battle temptation. You wrestle with anxiety. And deep down, something inside you longs for more. Romans 8 tells us that ache is real. It's not weakness. It's evidence that we were made for something better. Paul says creation is eagerly waiting, believers are groaning, and all of history is moving toward the day when Jesus makes all things new. Sin didn't just break humanity—it fractured all of creation. But the story doesn't end with brokenness. It ends with restoration.  In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths about groaning for glory: 1. Creation Groans — The world feels broken because it is. Every storm, sickness, funeral, and tragedy reminds us that sin left scars everywhere. 2. Believers Groan — Even as followers of Jesus, we still experience suffering, disappointment, temptation, and loss. Our groaning isn't hopeless—it's homesickness for heaven. 3. Hope Groans For Glory — Biblical hope isn't wishful thinking. It's confident expectation. We wait with confidence because God's promises are certain and His restoration is coming. Ultimately, Jesus entered our broken world, experienced our suffering, died our death, and rose again so that brokenness would never have the final word. Because of the resurrection, we know that every groan is moving toward glory. Final Application: * What area of your life is groaning right now? * Your body? Your family? Your future? Your heart? * Don't ignore the ache. Let it point you to hope. Because we ache because we weren't made for this world. And every groan is a reminder… Glory is on the way. Portada del episodio #87 | The Pain is Producing | Romans 8:18 | The Great 8

#87 | The Pain is Producing | Romans 8:18 | The Great 8

Pain has a way of shrinking our perspective. When you're hurting, today's struggle can feel like the whole story. Five minutes feels like five hours. Five days feels like five months. And if we're not careful, we begin believing the lie that this chapter is the final chapter. But Romans 8:18 lifts our eyes above our circumstances and gives us an eternal perspective. Paul says, "I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us." He's essentially saying, "I've done the math." After weighing temporary suffering against eternal glory, there simply is no comparison.  Paul isn't minimizing pain. He's maximizing eternity. He reminds us that suffering is real, but it isn't ultimate. God isn't asking us to pretend everything is okay. He's inviting us to trust Him in the middle of what's not okay. Because what feels like pressure today may actually be producing purpose for tomorrow. In this episode, we unpack three powerful truths about present pain and future glory: 1. Present Pain Is Real — Faith doesn't deny reality. It trusts God inside reality. Your pain is real, but it doesn't have the final word. 2. Future Glory Is Greater — Heaven doesn't erase suffering; it puts suffering into perspective. The greater your view of eternity, the smaller your suffering becomes in comparison. 3. Eternal Hope Changes Earthly Hurt — God is producing something through your pain. What feels like pressure may actually be preparing you for purpose and glory. Ultimately, Jesus shows us that suffering is never the end of the story. The cross looked like defeat, but resurrection was coming. And the same God who brought glory through Christ's suffering is working through yours. Final Application: * What suffering are you carrying today? * What burden feels unbearable? * What chapter feels confusing? * Lift your eyes higher. Look beyond today. Look beyond the pain. Look beyond the pressure. Because glory is coming. Because what feels like pressure today... is producing something for eternity.
