Descripción

I’ve known Jenny Mollet since she was a teenager, long before Broadway credits and standing ovations. Watching her grow into the woman and artist she is today has been one of the quiet joys of my life. In this episode, Jenny and I talk about what it means to grow up adopted, transracially, and in the public eye. We talk about identity, belonging, and the moments when the world makes assumptions about who you’re allowed to be. Jenny shares her journey from being adopted as a newborn to becoming a Broadway performer, and how her adoption story shaped her confidence, her creativity, and her sense of self. This conversation is about embracing what makes you different, rejecting shame, and realizing that the very thing you once questioned about yourself might be the thing that gives you the most strength. Twindollicious & Co: Building a Community of One's Own w/ Natasha D'Anna

In this episode, I sit down with my friend Natasha D'Anna, New York City native, lifestyle creator, mom of three, behavioral therapist, children's book author, and the founder of Twindollicious & Co. We met at a Hey Mama event years ago and immediately connected over authenticity, motherhood, and the courage to build something from scratch. We talk about how Twindollicious was born during bed rest, why she ignored everyone who told her to change the name, what it's really like to raise kids in New York City, how she advocates for maternal health after navigating preterm labor with her twin daughters, the difference between curated content and real life, and why there is absolutely no rule book for being a mother. This one is warm, funny, honest, and proof that the best connections happen when two people just show up exactly as they are. Let the Wise Woman In: Trusting Your Instincts w/ Halle Becker

In this episode, I sit down with one of my favorite humans on the planet, Halle Becker. We met 10 years ago when she was one of the original SoulCycle instructors and I was looking for someone connected to adoption to lead a fundraiser ride. What I found was a lifelong friend.  Halle launched a corporate production company at 23, ran it for 30 years including a two-year stint producing events for Oprah Winfrey, became an OG SoulCycle instructor, and has spent over 20 years leading healing retreats for women around the world. She is also a mom by adoption, her daughter Maya was adopted from Siberia, Russia, and just started her career at UBS after graduating from Syracuse with honors. We talk about the duct-tape plane to Siberia, the ugliest flammable pink dress ever seen, the judge who sang New York New York, asking for help without shame, and why the magic is always in the mess. Buckle up, this one is a ride. How an Innovation in Women’s Health Developed from One Woman’s Journey to Become a Mother w/ Dr. Lara Zibners

In this episode, I sit down with my friend of many years, Dr. Lara Zibners, board-certified pediatric emergency medicine specialist, hilarious author, mom by adoption and gestational carrier, and Co-Founder of Calla Lily Clinical Care. Lara called me out of the blue after reading about HelpUsAdopt.org in People Magazine, from London, where she was having it shipped at great expense to hold onto her American self. We talk about her seven rounds of IVF, what it felt like to never once get a positive pregnancy test, the moment she shifted from wanting to be pregnant to wanting to be a mother, how she built her family through adoption and a gestational carrier at the same time, and why she ultimately looked at a broken, painful piece of the fertility system and decided to fix it. Her company is developing what may become the world's first approved miscarriage prevention drug device, and this conversation is one of the most honest, funny, and important ones I've recorded. They Myth of the Nice Girl w/ Fran Hauser

In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend Fran Hauser, bestselling author, keynote speaker, LinkedIn Top Voice, former Time Inc. President of Digital, startup investor, and founder of Bedford Books (the first bookstore in Bedford, New York's 344-year history).  We talk about why kindness is actually a career accelerator, what to do when you feel stuck professionally, the guilt that comes with working motherhood, how to know if a career pivot is right for you, and why Fran took the leap on a brick-and-mortar bookstore in an Amazon world. Plus, she gives us a sneak peek at her forthcoming Penguin Random House book, Twenty Minutes Is the New Hour, coming September 2026. This one is for every woman who's ever been told she's too nice to get ahead, and every man who needs to hear it too. What’s Funny is What’s True: The Art of Failing Big w/ Betty Smithsonian

In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend and two-time MC of the Faces of Adoption Gala, the incomparable Betty Smithsonian, comic, creator, performer, and what the New York Times once called a "freelance clown." Betty is a lot of things: Best of Philly comedian, physical comedy teacher, co-owner of Next In Line Comedy, and a mom by adoption to her hilarious son Mateo. We talk about how she found comedy through heartbreak and recovery, what 25 years of sobriety taught her about showing up authentically, why bombing on stage is actually a gift, and how her voice as a comedian has become one of the most powerful tools she has to change the conversation around adoption. This one made me laugh, made me cry, and reminded me that humor isn't just entertainment, it's how we survive the hard stuff.
