Descripción

On tonight's show, I'm joined by Steffenie Jenkins as she shares the story of her 21-year-old son, Jacob, and the medical battle that has changed their family’s life. After years of unanswered questions, Mayo Clinic diagnosed Jacob with Bronchiolitis Obliterans, a rare and irreversible lung disease. More recently, doctors determined the condition was likely caused by rheumatoid arthritis affecting his lungs, an extremely rare complication. Now, Jacob continues treatment while facing the possibility of a lung transplant in the future. This is a conversation about a mother’s determination, a young man’s courage, & a family’s fight to hold onto hope through unimaginable challenges. Real stories. Real people. Real impact. Make A Difference Minute: More Than a Workplace

On this Make a Difference Minute, I'm coming to you from Uncle Maddio's Pizza in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where I sat down with Vette Young, Rady Smith, and Shay Bailey to talk about something that matters in every profession: feeling valued. For Vette, loyalty isn't something that's demanded. It's something that's earned through respect, kindness, and treating people like family. She says one of the greatest joys of coming to work each day is the relationships she shares with her coworkers. Through laughter, tears, and even personal loss, they have supported one another and become much more than coworkers. After losing her son in 2024, Vette says Rady and Shay helped hold her together during one of the most difficult seasons of her life. Their friendship is a reminder that the people we work alongside can become an important part of our support system. In a world where many people dread going to work, this team has found something special. They've found respect, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Sometimes, the best workplaces become something more. They become family. Make A Difference Minute: We're Not Invincible

On this Make A Difference Minute, I’m sharing a reflection about something many of us eventually come face to face with. For a lot of years, we can carry an unspoken belief that difficult things happen to other people. Then life has a way of getting our attention through loss, health struggles, unexpected news, or simply realizing time seems to move faster than it once did. This conversation is not about fear. It’s about perspective. It’s about recognizing that maybe we’re not meant to live as though we have unlimited tomorrows, but instead to value the people, moments, and opportunities right in front of us. This MADM is brought to you by Bankston Motor Homes, proudly supporting stories and the people who make our communities strong. Real stories. Real people. Real impact. News That Unites!™️
