In this 100th episode of Timeout Radio, we bring this show to a close as I highlight its journey over the past 4 years. It has been my privilege to produce and host a radio show that helped connect my community through good and tough times. Hear about how I launched Timeout Radio remotely in 2020 and developed the show's unique voice. A lot has happened in our world since then. Physical distances were magnified by pandemics, misinformation, social injustices, and climate change. And we were brought closer by science, technology, media, and sports. In our place of the week segment we traveled through the airwaves to over 80 places around the globe — from Antarctica to Zurich.

Football Club Davis is a semi-professional soccer team based in my hometown of Davis, California. FC Davis owner Adam Lewin returns to Timeout Radio to recap the team’s 2024 season. We talk about the men's transition into the UPSL after a full year and how the women's team exceeded expectations in the WPSL. Hear about next season, which sees the Lions start their UPSL fall action in September. Then visit Switzerland, famous for its watches, chocolate, and cheese. Rowing has a long history that goes back to ferry boats racing each other in the 1500s. The first intercollegiate rowing competition in the United States, the Harvard-Yale Regatta, was held in 1852. Oliver O’Reilly tells us about the University of California's long history of rowing and its Olympic successes. I just graduated from high school. On this episode of Timeout Radio we’ll look at high schools in the United States through the ages and milestones such as schools that accepted girls and struggles to abolish racial segregation. Hear about Da Vinci High School in Davis where I spent these formative years. Some of my classmates share their high school experiences and what they are looking forward to after graduation. UC Berkeley women's history professor Bonnie Morris tells us about discrimination in sports and changes in our world that influenced the rise and spread of women's sports. Then visit Romania — home to the legend of Dracula, the highest population of brown bears in Europe, the oldest underground glacier in the world, and 310 Olympic medals.
