Way back in something like 1977, at the age of four, I was introduced to a TV series by the name of Doctor Who. Meeting The Doctor, Leela, K-9 and the TARDIS for the first time on that fateful Saturday teatime had a dramatic effect on the rest of my life.It turned me into a fan for life.Since then, I have watched as The Doctor regenerated multiple times. Thanks to home video, DVD and the occasional repeat, I've met Doctors and companions who stopped travelling before I was born.Like The Doctor, I have survived the Dark Times, in fact through reading The New Adventures, Target Novelizations and various other books as well as buying video cassettes, DVDs and Big Finish CDs and downloads, I have helped keep the series alive in some small way.Doctor Who is now stronger than it has been since the mid-70's and I thought it was time I celebrated that by talking about one of the passions in my life: the adventures of an almost-immortal alien being raised in a culture with technology way beyond our own, but with a love of discovery and the need to share it

Episode 1: At Childhood's End

This inaugural edition of WHO Knows was originally released on YouTube as a vodcast. Here's the text I put on YouTube to go with it: Welcome to the first edition of "WHO Knows?", yet another Doctor Who-based YouTube series. Probably the main difference compared to a lot of the videos you may have seen is that I'm a true Old School fan of Doctor Who. I started watching it back in October 1977. I read just about all the Target novelizations (or at least all the ones they had in Mirfield Library at the time) and, like Chris Chibnall, was spitting mad when Doctor Who was canned back in 1989. The main difference is that I didn't get a chance to tackle Michael Grade on live TV about it like he did. So in the spirit of TL;DR, I'm not one of the negative nellies banging on about Doctor Who becoming "too PC" (it's been "PC" since 1963) or its "SJW agenda" (The Doctor has been an SJW since 1963! It's what they do! It's the whole point of the show!)... although I may do a video puncturing these takes. Or I may not, since I don't really want to be that negative. Episode 2: The Timeless Children

Seems a bit bizarre to start with Episode 2, doesn't it? The main reason for that is that the first episode was done as a YouTube video, but I wasn't happy with the way it turned out, so I returned to my favourite broadcast medium, the podcast. Anyway, this one tackles the somewhat thorny subject of the fallout from The Timeless Children. I'm not getting hysterical about how it "ruins" Doctor Who, what I'm doing is looking at the lore of the series and examining how the revelations of this particular episode actually go deep into the series and actually repair some of the damage done by the likes of John Nathan Turner. Anyway, give it a listen and see what you think.
