Anchored in Hope
You’re listening to Anchored in Hope, the weekly sermon podcast from Living Hope Fellowship in Denison, Texas, where our prayer is that God uses His Word to steady you, encourage you, and anchor you in hope. In Part 2 of “Low Power Mode,” Living Hope Fellowship welcomes guest speaker David Lowdermilk, a representative of The Gideons International [https://gideons.org/], to share how the simple gift of God’s Word can change a life—and even transform an entire family. Through the moving story of a fifth-grade boy named Otis, we hear how receiving a small New Testament at school sparked a desire to attend church and began a journey of faith. Though Otis’s life was tragically cut short by cancer, his faith in Christ impacted his entire family, leading many to salvation and leaving a lasting testimony of God’s grace. His story is a powerful reminder that the Bible is more than a book—it is the living Word of God, carrying the power to reach hearts, renew hope, and lead people to Jesus Christ. David also shares about the ongoing ministry of The Gideons International and their mission to place God’s Word into the hands of people around the world, especially children and students who may never otherwise hear the gospel. Pastor Tim Franklin then continues the “Low Power Mode” series with a message on spiritual recharge. Drawing from Matthew 11:28–30, he reminds believers that even faithful Christians can become spiritually exhausted. Just as God established rhythms of rest and Jesus Himself withdrew to pray, we too need times of renewal in God’s presence. This message offers practical encouragement for those running on “low power mode,” including admitting our struggles to God, seeking wise counsel, taking needed rest, addressing anything disrupting our peace with God, building intimacy through Scripture and prayer, and learning to wait on the Lord for renewed strength. Whether you feel spiritually energized or completely worn out, Jesus still extends the same invitation: “Come to Me… and you will find rest for your souls.” If this message spoke to you, we’d love to help you take the next step. Whether that means learning more about following Jesus, coming back to church, joining a Bible study, or simply having someone pray with you, you don’t have to do life alone. This message was recorded at Living Hope Fellowship, a Baptist church in Denison, Texas. We believe the Bible is God’s Word and that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope we all need. If you're anywhere near the Texoma area, we'd love to meet you in person. To learn more about our church, view service times, or plan a visit, go to livinghopedenison.com [www.livinghopedenison.com].
