Anchored in Hope
What might change if we stopped moving through life focused only on our own plans and began noticing the people God places around us? In “God Sightings,” Pastor Tim Franklin challenges believers to look beyond everyday distractions and see others as Jesus sees them—people who may be hurting, searching, or in need of the hope of the gospel. Using the idea of “target fixation,” he explains how easily our attention can become centered on ourselves while we overlook opportunities to encourage someone, share our faith, or simply start a meaningful conversation. Through Peter’s bold witness on the Day of Pentecost, this message reminds us that God can overcome our fear and give us the words we need. We are not responsible for saving people, but we are called to faithfully share Jesus and trust the Holy Spirit to work. As you go through the week, look for “God sightings”—moments when God is moving, opening a door, or drawing your attention toward someone who needs His love. This message was recorded at Living Hope Fellowship, a Baptist church in Denison, Texas. We believe the Bible is God’s Word and that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope we all need.
