Vela McClam Mitchell Thomas Founder and Chief Executive Officer VIMM Global, LLC  (Parent Company of Lemae Group Wines, Vinings Wine Club and Market Designs Lab Consulting)  Vela McClam Mitchell Thomas is the founder and chief executive officer of VIMM Global, LLC headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. Vimm Global is the parent company of her three entrepreneurial pursuits, Lemae Group Wines, Vinings Wine Club and Market Designs Lab. Vela was also the former owner of Georgia International Travel (GIT), which was an American Express affiliated company. She sold that company in 2016 so she could focus most of her energy on growing the wine business. She is Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 2 certified and serves on the advisory board of the largest wine industry show in the U.S., VinExpo/DrinksAmerica. Vela has been in the wine business since 1999 when she partnered with her deceased husband to found Lemae Group Wines. Dr. Amanda Carter CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER of CARAFAP Dr. Amanda Carter was born in Washington, D.C., and an only child who was raised in Maryland. She attended Shaw, Howard and Nova Southeastern Universities. Her dissertation research was conducted in East Haddam, Connecticut which addressed Parental Perceptions for Adolescents diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Carter’s area of expertise include Autism Spectrum Disorder, and mental health. She has appeared on local, national, international television and radio. She has provided training and seminars abroad to raise autism awareness in Accra, Ghana, United Kingdom, and Singapore. Dr. Carter was inspired to enter the field of behavioral health to specialize in autism spectrum disorder after working with two individuals during her tenure in college. Calvin Harris Jr., is Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the National Urban League (“NUL”), based in New York City. He has over 30 years of “Csuite” level experience in working with complex organizations. Calvin is a Certified Public Accountant, and graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta. Prior to NUL, Calvin served as the CFO of Baltimore City Community College (“BCCC”), along with prior roles at non-profits such as the United Nations Foundation, NeighborWorks America, Legal Services Corporation, and Aeras Global TB Vaccine Foundation. His career began at the international accounting firm Arthur Andersen and Calvin has served as CFO, auditor, controller, forensic accountant, consultant, and expert witness over his career.  During his role as CFO at BCCC, the Baltimore Business Journal named Calvin as a “Best in Finance: CFO” of the year award recipient, and twice he has been named one the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” by Accounting Today magazine.  Frequently contacted on matters related to business and leadership, Calvin has been quoted or interviewed by numerous news sources including Inc., CFO magazine, Black Enterprise, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, AMEX Open Forum and Staples Business Hub, and Financial Executives International.  Calvin is a former Chairman of the Board and National President of the National Association of Black Accountants (“NABA”) and a former President of the Baltimore NABA Chapter. Yvette Wood was voted as a leader of nursing by LinkedIn in 2019. She is a member of the DC Medical Reserve Corps and Maryland Medical Reserve Corps and has over 10 years of experience with Biotech and Pharmaceutical organizations as a Clinical Nurse Educator, Regional Trainer, Patient Services Manager, and 15 years as a Director of Nursing. She has managed large multi-state territories and has launch many new products, patient assistance programs, system process implementations, and training. Yvette has successfully built and led teams through a coaching and mentoring leadership style, transparency in analytics, with a focus on achieving high team performance by exceeding patient expectations. Her hobbies include Golf, Traveling, Cake decorating and Fencing.
