Mies saapuu suljetulla asuinalueella sijaitsevaan kotiinsa sateisena sunnuntaina lokakuussa 2002 ja löytää vaimonsa verisenä ja kaikesta päätellen kylpyammeeseen hukkuneena. Omaiset ovat vakuuttuneita siitä, että kyseessä on tapaturmainen kuolema, mutta paikalle kutsutun lääkärin tekemät havainnot herättävät epäilyksiä. Ruumiinavauksessa selviääkin, että nainen oli kokenut väkivaltaisen kuoleman ja viranomaiset uskovat omaisten salailevan jotain.
