What’s wrong with our world? When we look around, we see brokenness everywhere—conflict, jealousy, greed, deception, pain, and suffering. Yet Genesis 1 and 2 paint a very different picture: a world filled with beauty, goodness, purpose, and perfect relationship with God.So what happened? In Week 2 of our Genesis series, we explore Genesis 3—the pivotal chapter that changed everything. The fall of humanity reveals the origin of sin and the brokenness we still experience today. The serpent's question, "Did God really say?" continues to echo through every generation, challenging God's truth and inviting people to trust themselves instead of their Creator.Adam and Eve's decision introduced sin into the world, and with sin came shame, hiding, separation, and death. The pattern established in Genesis 3 is still familiar today: we sin, we try to cover it up, and we hide from God.But the story doesn't end there.Even in humanity's failure, God pursued His people. He provided covering for Adam and Eve and began revealing His plan of redemption—a plan ultimately fulfilled through Jesus Christ, the perfect sacrifice who would once and for all deal with the problem of sin.The Bible's message is clear: sin is what's wrong with the world, and Jesus is the solution.Key Takeaways:Genesis 3 is the turning point in humanity's story.Sin begins when we question God's truth and authority.Shame causes us to hide, but God continues to pursue us.Humanity's greatest problem is sin.God's response to sin is grace, redemption, and restoration.Jesus became the final sacrifice so we could be forgiven and made right with God.Scripture References:Genesis 3:1-8Genesis 3:21Romans 5:12Romans 3:23-26Hebrews 9:22Hebrews 10:9-12Matthew 21:18-19If this message encouraged you, be sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who is searching for hope in a broken world.Cypress Church, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a vibrant, welcoming church dedicated to helping lead people to Christ and provide steps to follow after him. It's Time To Let Go | Genesis

What does it look like to trust God when His instructions don't make sense? In Week 3 of our Genesis series, we dive into the story of Noah—a man who remained faithful in the middle of a world consumed by wickedness. While humanity continued to reject God, Noah chose a different path: one of faith, obedience, and close fellowship with the Lord. Genesis reminds us that God's righteousness requires Him to deal with sin, but His grace always provides a way of salvation. Noah found favor with God, not because he was perfect, but because he trusted God enough to obey Him. This message explores three essential qualities that marked Noah's life and continue to shape the lives of Christ followers today: faith that changes behavior, obedience without applause, and remembering God's faithfulness through every season. The ark ultimately points us to an even greater rescue—Jesus Christ. Just as Noah and his family were saved through the waters, baptism symbolizes the new life we have through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Key Takeaways: * God is both perfectly just and incredibly gracious. * Faith is belief that shows up in behavior. * Obedience often feels foolish until God's promises come to pass. * Walking closely with God prepares us for seasons of uncertainty. * Remembering God's faithfulness gives us confidence for the future. * The story of Noah ultimately points to salvation through Jesus Christ. Scripture References: * Genesis 6:5-9 * Genesis 6:22 * Genesis 7:12-16 * Genesis 9:15-16 * Hebrews 11:7 * 1 Peter 3:20-22 If this message encouraged you, be sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs encouragement to trust God's plan, even when it doesn't make sense. How To Be A Godly Man

There is a lot of confusion today about what it means to be a man—but Scripture gives us a clear picture. In this Father’s Day weekend message, we look at the life of David to discover what Godly, humble manhood really looks like. True strength isn’t found in pride or self-reliance—it’s found in humility before God.David, a warrior and king, shows us that humility is not weakness—it is the foundation of spiritual maturity. Through his life, we see three defining marks of a humble man: admitting weakness, repenting quickly, and recognizing that everything good comes from God.This message challenges us to shift from self-confidence to God-confidence, from hiding in guilt to walking in grace, and from prideful independence to grateful dependence on God.**Key Takeaways:*** Humility is the path to true strength in God.* Godly men admit they are not as strong as they think.* Humble men repent quickly and let God rewrite their story.* Everything good in our lives is a gift from God.* Pride isolates, but humility invites God’s presence and guidance.**Scripture References:*** 2 Samuel 3:38–39* Psalm 51:16–17* James 1:17* 2 Samuel 7:18* Psalm 50:12* 1 Corinthians 10:12If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a reminder that real strength is found in humility before God.Cypress Church, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a vibrant, welcoming church dedicated to helping lead people to Christ and provide steps to follow after him.
