Adam's Daily Bread
This is part of a year long reading of the Bible chronologically in a harmonized format. Psalms 34:1-22 - David praises the Lord continually and invites the afflicted to glorify God together. - The Lord delivers the righteous who fear him, while evil slays the wicked. Psalms 52:1-9 - The psalm condemns the boastful evildoer whose deceitful tongue plots destruction. - God will uproot the wicked, but the righteous will trust in God's steadfast love. Psalms 56:1-13 - David cries for mercy amid relentless pursuit by proud enemies who twist his words. - He trusts in God without fear, knowing God records his tears and delivers him from death. Psalms 120:1-7 - In distress, the psalmist calls on the Lord for deliverance from lying lips and deceit. - He laments living among hostile people who seek war despite his peaceful words. Psalms 140:1 - 142:7 - David prays for protection from violent evildoers who set traps and stir war. - He pours out his complaint to God in a cave, declaring the Lord as his refuge amid faint spirit and snares. Matthew 26:21-25 - Jesus announces one of the disciples eating with him will betray him. - Judas asks if it is him, and Jesus confirms it is the one who dipped bread with him. Mark 14:18-21 - While eating, Jesus declares one of the twelve eating with him will betray the Son of Man. - Woe is pronounced on the betrayer, for whom it would have been better not to be born. Luke 22:21-23 - Jesus states the betrayer's hand is on the table with his during the meal. - The Son of Man goes as decreed, but woe to the one who betrays him as the disciples question among themselves. John 13:21-30 - Troubled, Jesus reveals one disciple will betray him, prompting confusion among them. - He identifies Judas by giving him dipped bread, after which Satan enters him and Judas leaves into the night.
