Descripción

The Mummy is Lee Cronin’s most recent film, following up Evil Dead Rise in tone and themes and basically in every way except for franchise name. This is absolutely worth a watch if your favorite thing about the Evil Dead movies is the zany action and the willingness to be brutal. It is however a skip if you want a competent story, interesting characters, or a strong deeper message. It is shot well and has definite peak moments, but it is not revolutionary and it lacks a bit of the heart I think it would need to be considered a cult classic. horror, podcasts, the mummy, lee cronin, review

The Lawnmower Man (1992) - Additional Crew Film Review

“Hi Additional Crew! Can we play in cyber boogie today?”Welcome to Additional Crew, the spoiler-heavy review show where we choose whatever random film we want to talk about. This episode we bring to you ”A simple man is turned into a genius through the application of computer science.” I am of course talking about Brett Leonard’s The Lawnmower Man from 1992. A movie that’s hard to classify, but talks about themes that are ever-increasingly relevant. A movie based on a Stephen King short story that he sued to have his name removed from.A phenomenal feast for the eyes, does The Lawnmower Man have what it takes to be called a classic?#specialeffects #stephenking #scifi #moviereview #horror #vr #Brettleonard #piercebrosnan #jefffahey #cyboman

The week of Halloween here is like a free-for-all.”Welcome to Additional Crew, the spoiler-heavy review show where we choose whatever random film we want to talk about. This episode we bring to you ”A small midwestern town is celebrating its 300th birthday with festivities including a Halloween dance and corn maze. The previous All Hallow's Eve, Hadley Briggs survived a brutal attack by her ex-boyfriend which put him in prison. But now a new series of slayings has started with the masked perpetrator making grisly decorations out of their victims' body parts.” I am of course talking about Brittney Greer’s 2024 film Happy Halloween. I am happy to let you know we had a lovely conversation with Brittney and you guys will get to see that in the middle segment of this podcast.
