Caribbean Largest WineFest "Linganore Winecellers”

Greetings and welcome to Alonzobash Podcast Real People Real Conversations. On this episode Alonzo visits Linganore Winecellars and sat down with Mr. Eric Aellen, second generation Co-Owner of Linganore Winecellars, as he shares the remarkable story behind one of the East Coast’s most successful family-owned wineries and home of one of the region’s largest Caribbean Wine festivals. Eric reflects on his family’s journey beginning in 1971 after his father lost his eyesight in a work-related accident and made the life-changing decision to purchase a 230-acre dairy farm in Maryland. In the early years, the family focused on raising livestock before eventually taking a major leap into the wine industry and building what would become the iconic Linganore Winecellars brand. In this in-depth conversation, Eric discusses how the winery evolved over the decades, expanding from traditional dry wines into a wide variety of sweet and specialty wines, including their fan-favorite Mango Sangria. He also shares stories about the many festivals hosted on the property over the years, from watermelon festivals and bluegrass events to even helicopter tours. Eric highlights the massive success of the annual Caribbean Wine Festival, which has grown over more than 35 years into one of the largest Caribbean cultural festivals in the region, bringing together music, food, wine, and Caribbean culture for thousands of patrons annually. This and much more. @linganorewinecellars @alonzobashpodcast www.AlonzoBash.com
