Eric reflects on his family’s journey beginning in 1971 after his father lost his eyesight in a work-related accident and made the life-changing decision to purchase a 230-acre dairy farm in Maryland. In the early years, the family focused on raising livestock before eventually taking a major leap into the wine industry and building what would become the iconic Linganore Winecellars brand. In this in-depth conversation, Eric discusses how the winery evolved over the decades, expanding from traditional dry wines into a wide variety of sweet and specialty wines, including their fan-favorite Mango Sangria. He also shares stories about the many festivals hosted on the property over the years, from watermelon festivals and bluegrass events to even helicopter tours.
