Ep. 4: Past Life Problem, Present Day Pain

In this episode of Ancestral Thoughts, we dive deep into how everything in life is cyclical, bound by nature’s rhythms. But many spiritual and religious doctrines teach us to deny this cycle, leading to self-harm and spiritual disconnection. We explore how modern distractions—like chemicals and sugar—keep us trapped in a delusion, preventing true healing and growth. The episode also touches on how historical traumas, though not far behind us, continue to haunt us. Many of us disassociate from the pain of our ancestors, repressing it on a spiritual and soulful level because we’re not ready to face the painful truth of our journeys. And, how, often, the very colonizers who inflicted this trauma are now embedded in the bodies of our own people, perpetuating the cycle. Join us as we challenge these harmful narratives and look at how reconnecting with our pain can help us heal, grow, and finally move forward.

In this episode of Ancestral Thoughts, Sex Ain't Sexy No More!, we explore the vital role of spiritual hygiene in intimate relationships, highlighting how generational traumas and energetic attachments unknowingly shape our connections. We also discuss how trauma can cause disassociation from our bodies and the journey to reconnect through self-touch and somatic practices, fostering empowerment and self-discovery. Finally, I share my personal path of reclaiming my body, setting boundaries, and affirming my right to consent, paving the way toward healthier relationships with myself and others.

In this opening episode of Ancestral Thoughts, we explore discipline as a path of self-devotion rather than punishment, emphasizing the worthiness of our aspirations. We discuss the complexities of healing, recognizing that much of our pain lies in the shadows of the subconscious, particularly for people of color, as we confront generational trauma that demands acknowledgment.
