Descripción

In this episode of Lost in the Melanin, I share my experience of being crowned as a spiritual leader within my African lineage and the mission passed down by my ancestors for both my family and the collective empowerment of our people. We discuss melanin as both a source of strength and a shadow where we lose ourselves in debates over Black identity, and how overcoming divisions is key to unity. The fight against oppression is far from over. We talk about supporting Black businesses, channeling our collective energy, and creating the change we need. Finally, we challenge the illusion that reincarnation doesn’t exist, and how our ancestors understood that their sacrifices would lead to rewards in future lives, teaching us that death was a step toward liberation. www.DivinelyMelanated.net [www.DivinelyMelanated.net]

Ep. 4: Past Life Problem, Present Day Pain

In this episode of Ancestral Thoughts, we dive deep into how everything in life is cyclical, bound by nature’s rhythms. But many spiritual and religious doctrines teach us to deny this cycle, leading to self-harm and spiritual disconnection. We explore how modern distractions—like chemicals and sugar—keep us trapped in a delusion, preventing true healing and growth. The episode also touches on how historical traumas, though not far behind us, continue to haunt us. Many of us disassociate from the pain of our ancestors, repressing it on a spiritual and soulful level because we’re not ready to face the painful truth of our journeys. And, how, often, the very colonizers who inflicted this trauma are now embedded in the bodies of our own people, perpetuating the cycle. Join us as we challenge these harmful narratives and look at how reconnecting with our pain can help us heal, grow, and finally move forward.

Ep. 1: What the Hell is Goin' on in the Diaspora?

In this opening episode of Ancestral Thoughts, we explore discipline as a path of self-devotion rather than punishment, emphasizing the worthiness of our aspirations. We discuss the complexities of healing, recognizing that much of our pain lies in the shadows of the subconscious, particularly for people of color, as we confront generational trauma that demands acknowledgment. We also examine the disconnection within the diaspora—from Africa to the Caribbean and beyond—urging listeners to see our shared humanity and the love that binds us. It’s a call to reclaim our connections and honor the ancestors who have come before us.
