President and co-founder of Angel City Football Club, Julie Uhrman, is my guest this week on Another Door Opens. Angel City is a new women’s professional soccer team that’s coming to Los Angeles in 2022, and it was founded by three women: Actor and activist Natalie Portman, venture capitalist Kara Nortman and entrepreneur Julie Uhrman. Fight Like A Girl with Jill Morley

Jill Morley is my guest this week on the podcast. She is a filmmaker, screenwriter, boxer and boxing coach. I admire Jill Morley for many reasons, foremost among them is her willingness to share some of the things she has lived and experienced in her life as a means to help others. This week on Another Door Opens, we talk about the documentary film she directed, Fight Like A Girl, which set out to explore the stories of a few female boxers and why they fight, but it was also an exploration of Jill’s own mental health struggles, where they started and how she used boxing to confront and combat some painful memories. That journey became a fight all its own for Jill — one she generously shares with the audience. That is the kind of artist Jill is: truthful, unfiltered, honest. When someone has the courage to be vulnerable, as Jill does, it gives a reminder that we can own our life experiences without judgment.
