Descripción

In this episode, Dad and I speak about how expectations can really make one go down a spiral of low self esteem, self worth, disappointment and frustration. As humans, we unconsciously place unrealistic expectations on others and ourselves. We become less understanding and more judgmental. Less graceful and more controlling. While being kind, easy-going and helpful is a beautiful thing, going too far to please others leaves you feeling emotionally depleted, stressed, and anxious. So learn to say no, this will help you stay in the driver seat. Otherwise you will not have time to carry out your duty, or to do your own work, and certainly no time for love and happiness. This rule does not mean that you must not do a favour for a friend, or even a stranger. But let the choice be yours. Don’t do it because it is “expected” of you.

Sexual Trauma: A Letter To All The Dots of The World.

From our previous conversation, a young lady reached out to me on Instagram expressing how she is dealing with her sexual trauma and is still on her healing journey. Not many people are able to clear out and heal their trauma making it difficult to create healthy and powerful relationships- with themselves or another person. In this conversation, we wade into this sensitive topic. I hope that through our discussion, you feel more comforted and uplifted if you are going through or have been through something like this or even if you are trying to help someone through this. We may not understand the depth of your trauma, nobody will, but we hope that this platform makes you feel like there are people out there who will always be ready to speak and listen to you. This week’s affirmation is: “ I acknowledge and accept that healing is possible.” With love and light, Dad and Nish.
