Descripción

SERIES: Matthew: The Kingdom of Heaven SERMON: "Jesus vs. The Pharisees, Round 2" from Matthew 12:22–37. In this passage, we’re meant to see the Pharisees as the counter-example to avoid. Their evil hearts are revealed in their words about Jesus. In this, the second of three confrontations between the Pharisees and Jesus in chapter 12, the Pharisees accuse Jesus of being in league with Satan. In His response and subsequent rebuke, Jesus reveals the ironic truth: the ones bringing the accusation are the ones who are actually in league with Satan. The counter-example of the Pharisees’ attitude toward Jesus reveals that THE KINGDOM OF GOD BRINGS TOTAL TRANSFORMATION.

MATTHEW: THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN | "Three Offices, One Mediator" | Matthew 12:6, 41, 42

SERIES: Matthew: The Kingdom of Heaven SERMON: "Three Offices, One Mediator" from Matthew 12:6, 41, 42. In Matthew 12, Jesus says something greater than the temple is here (v. 6), something greater than Jonah is here (v. 41), and something greater than Solomon is here (v. 42). These statements give us a clue to His mediatory work. He is the fulfillment and improvement of all three of the greatest institutions in biblical history: prophet, priest, and king. In this sermon, Pastor Andrew takes a theological deep dive into these institutions and Jesus' fulfillment of each. As we consider the three-fold office of Christ, we see that we don’t need someone else to represent us to God or God to us. We already have a Mediator. JESUS IS THE ONLY MEDIATOR WE NEED.
