Acerca de Debugging Dan

Debugging Dan is where I’ll be sharing my personal experiences as I juggle being a husband and a dad, having a full-time job and a passion for side projects. It’s not so much about debugging code, that’s a metaphor. It is about debugging and navigating life in general. Why start this podcast? For me, it’s about creating a space where we can learn and grow together. Life can get hectic, and side projects can sometimes feel overwhelming. But through this weekly podcast, I hope to offer some guidance, share some laughs, and most importantly, remind you that you’re not alone in this journey. www.debuggingdan.com

episode My Take on Vibe Coding artwork

My Take on Vibe Coding

In this episode of the Debugging Dan podcast, I dive into the concept of Vibe Coding, my unique interpretation of coding with the assistance of AI. I discuss how Vibe Coding makes it easier for people, regardless of their coding knowledge, to build applications using AI-driven tools like Vercel and Cursor. I’ve noticed an increase in AI-written posts on forums, where creators showcase quick projects that they’ve built, often motivated by the desire to gain recognition rather than contribute meaningful content. I share my personal experiences with using AI for coding, the challenges of prompting effectively, and my current focus on content generation through N8N—a no-code tool I’m enjoying. Vibe Coding, for me, represents following the flow and working with enthusiasm rather than getting bogged down by large projects. Stay connected! episode Migrating to Coolify artwork

Migrating to Coolify

In this episode, I discuss my current journey of migrating my application from an old server to a new one. The decision was triggered by a price increase from my hosting provider, prompting me to seek better options. I’m moving to a new server with larger disk space and a more cost-effective plan. Additionally, I’m transitioning to Coolify, a self-hosting application that simplifies container management and automates many tasks. I’ve encountered challenges while adapting my previous methods to this new environment, but I’m excited about the potential for improved efficiency and better user interfaces for my applications using AI tools. episode Cannot Complete a Project artwork

Cannot Complete a Project

In this episode, I delve into my struggles with completing personal projects, sharing my experiences with various initiatives like DanCuts, DanCaptures, and DanVid Studio. Although I start each project with enthusiasm, I often face challenges that lead to a loss of interest or technical hurdles that feel overwhelming. I reflect on the emotional toll of leaving projects unfinished while also recognizing the valuable skills I’ve gained along the way. To combat this cycle, I discuss my plan to create detailed to-do lists to break down tasks into manageable steps, ultimately aiming to find a balance between my personal projects and the more structured work I do for clients at my agency. Restart, Refresh, Record

In this episode of the Debugging Dan podcast, I reflect on my hiatus since December and share my journey toward resuming my podcast and building projects in public. I discuss my decision to focus on sharing content on Blue Sky and YouTube to enhance engagement and positivity. I’ve pivoted my approach to content by dropping the weekly schedule and now aim to share my progress freely. I also talk about my experiences with various video editing projects, including DanCuts and the development of my new project, danvidstudio, which leverages Pixi.js for video editing in the browser. I emphasize the importance of keeping a flexible mindset in entrepreneurship and the challenges I’ve faced with licensing changes in tools I’ve used. Stay connected! Get It Done #8

An update on the progress I’ve made over the past two weeks in my projects, focusing on four main items. I successfully completed the Debugging Dan blog, addressing SEO tweaks and integrating RSS feed features. However, I struggled to make progress on content creation and the DanCuts project due to a lack of energy and the busy holiday season. I explored the potential of creating a desktop app for social media posting to simplify my workflow and facilitate content sharing. Moving forward, I’ll concentrate on developing DanCuts and a new project aimed at automating social media uploads. Tune in for insights on my journey and tips I’ve learned along the way.
