She and Pastor Darryl Ford discuss abuse in the church, the effects of toxic Christianity, and how to detoxify it. He answers her questions with insight, empathy, and compassion.
Pastor Darryl Ford's Bio:
When Darryl Ford set out to see a holistic kingdom community form, what is Ikon Community Church today was just an idea. Born and raised in Detroit, he now serves as the Lead Pastor of this community that strives to image God around the rich diversity and history that is Atlanta. Darryl formerly served in the U.S. Air Force as a meteorologist and holds a B.S. in information systems as well as an M.S. in management, strategy and leadership. He and his wife, Patricia, live in Tucker with their three children: Paige, Audrey, and Sebastian.

Emily Williquette's Bio:
Emily was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, and lived in northern Alabama for most of her childhood. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a bachelor’s in performance arts, and spent four years in Atlanta, working in the film industry with production companies like Sony, New Line Cinema, FX, and Facebook TV. Emily was born into the Independent Fundamental Baptist Church but has recently renounced it and the larger institution of Christianity, largely because of the many cases of abuse found in evangelical churches, some of which she has witnessed firsthand. Emily lives in Madison, Alabama with her Golden Pyrenees and her garden. She works as a freelance screenwriter and music teacher and is passionate about the arts, autism advocacy, and mental health healing for all.
