Eesa Leak

Eesa Leak, also spelled Esa Leak or Qari Eesa Leak, is a contemporary Quran reciter from South Africa known for his disciplined murattal recitation in the Hafs ‘an ‘Asim riwāyah. He memorized the Qur’an under local scholars and has since represented South Africa in international recitation competitions, achieving notable placements such as third place in the 2023 Tanzania Quran Competition and fourth in the DMDI International Musabaqah Tilawah in Indonesia. His recitation style is marked by measured pacing, clear Tajwīd, and emotional resonance—qualities that earned him invitations to perform in mosques across South Africa, Indonesia, Tanzania, and Malawi. Recordings of his night prayers (Qiyām al-Layl), Eid recitations, and other public performances are featured in respected Qur’anic audio collections and community broadcasts, making him a rising voice in the international Quran recitation scene.
