For over 20 years, I couldn't eat a raw apple. Or carrots, pears, cherries, plums and the list went on and on. What started as a strange tingling sensation in my mouth as a teenager eventually became years of anxiety around food, fear of allergic reactions, panic attacks, doctor visits, allergist appointments, naturopathic protocols, and constantly wondering where the nearest hospital was whenever I ate something unfamiliar. In this episode, I share my personal journey with Oral Allergy Syndrome (also known as Pollen Food Allergy Syndrome), how it affected my life, and the surprising way my symptoms began to change through embodiment work. This is not a story about finding a miracle cure. It's a story about reconnecting to my body, exploring the relationship between the nervous system and immune system, releasing years of tension, fear, and emotional holding patterns, and discovering what became possible when I stopped treating my body like the enemy.
