Field Notes from The Proving
At some point, training stops feeling like a hobby… and starts becoming your entire life. In Episode 21 of Field Notes from The Proving, I talk about the moment marathon training fully took over — the obsession, sacrifice, structure, and identity shift that happens when chasing a goal starts consuming everything around you. January in New Jersey was cold, dark, and brutal. But by this point, I had already signed up for my first marathon and knew there was no turning back. I ran another half marathon effort at race pace (1:51:49 / 8:31 pace), intensified training, and started realizing that every decision in life was beginning to revolve around running, recovery, discipline, and proving something to myself. This episode is about: * Marathon training obsession * Discipline and sacrifice * Running taking over your life * The psychology of endurance training * High performance identity * Not letting yourself down * Chasing impossible goals * Becoming addicted to progress This isn’t about perfection. It’s about proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you thought possible. The work continues. #MarathonTraining #RunningMotivation #Discipline #SelfImprovement #Endurance #Mindset #MarathonRunner #HighPerformance #RunningLife #MentalStrength #TheProven #OnlyTheProven #FieldNotesFromTheProving #PersonalGrowth #Obsession #HalfMarathon #Transformation #SelfConcept #DistanceRunning #MarathonJourney
