Don't Call it a Comeback

Speaker: Pastor Funmi Ojetayo  Text: Exodus 14 Big Idea: When there is no way out, God makes a way through, winning a victory no one else can claim, and getting glory no one else deserves. 1. Sovereign Setup (vv. 1–9) + God led them to the dead end on purpose. + One purpose: the fame of His name (v. 4). 2. Slavery's Shadow (vv. 10–12) + They saw Pharaoh without seeing God. + Israel was out of Egypt, but Egypt not yet out of them. 3. Saving Stand (vv. 13–15) Four commands, then a fifth: + Fear not + Stand firm + See + Be silent + Go forward (v. 15) 4. Sea-Splitting Salvation (vv. 16–31) + The Lord shields His people (vv. 19–20) + The Lord splits the sea (vv. 21–22) + The Lord swallows the enemy (vv. 23–28) + The Lord saves Israel (vv. 29–31) + Saved first. Remember Your Redemption

Remember the Privilege of Redemption: You are a Treasured Possession Exodus 19:5-6 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’  1 Peter 2:9-12 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  Exodus 4:22 "Israel is my firstborn son, Let my son go that he may serve me in the wilderness.”  3. Remember the Price of Redemption: You were bought by precious blood. The truth of the gospel, reflected in the passover, is that God gave his very best while we were at our very worst.  "God shows his love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Rom 5:7 "Whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins." 2 Pet. 1:9  Our fathers, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wondrous works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.
