Acerca de Fractal Diaries

A podcast for those navigating non-ordinary states of consciousness (e.g. seeing visions, hearing voices, synchronicity, vivid dreams, spiritual emergence, or other mind/world-bending experiences) to talk openly about their experiences and learn from each other. We provide a non-pathologising discussion and education platform for those with lived experience of these phenomena, with the aim of sharing resources, breaking taboos, and normalizing these states as valid and valuable human experiences, both within the mental health field and beyond. If you want to learn more, subscribe to our mailing list at fractaldiaries.com, and if you’ve had a non-ordinary state experience yourself that you’d love to share - get in touch at matt@fractaldiaries.com.

Reclaim your ‘Mania’ | Re-Uncovering Extra-Ordinary State Experiences w/ Andrea Grey

In this Fractal Diaries discussion we explore the Re-Uncovery of ‘Mania’ with Andrea Grey, author of ‘The Bipolar Game Changer’. Andrea’s work focuses on re-uncovering ‘manic’ and extra-ordinary experiences and choosing to reclaim the word and territory for oneself. She discusses re-framing experiences commonly viewed as ‘mania’ into a useful blueprint, revealing potential stages, directions, or paths one could choose to earn or embody in their own time. Not in Kansas Anymore | Discussing the Oz like Dimensions of Non-Ordinary States with Jen Macdonald

In our first Fractal Diaries discussion, Matt and Jen discuss their non-ordinary experiences - such as the world communicating with us, things showing up out of nowhere, and the sensation of falling into deeper levels of consciousness. We explore how to navigate the challenging impacts of widespread pathologisation when disclosing our experiences. Jen first shifted into non-ordinary states in 1998 whilst backpacking, and navigated them alone for 10 years. She is now dedicated to helping people better understand these states through writing, fostering community, and supporting projects that work to de-pathologise these experiences. She is currently working on a book that she hopes will reassure people in a psycho-spiritual crisis that they’re not alone and that support is out there. Fractal Diaries is a non-pathologising discussion platform dedicated to helping people find the meaning and magic in their non-ordinary state experiences (such as hearing voices, visions, synchronicities, spiritual emergence, vivid dreams, and reality shifting).  Through peer-to-peer conversations between those with lived experience, we hope to share our knowledge and learnings to help make the process easier and more welcoming for the next generation.
