4 episodiosG’day Podcasts - conversations with ordinary and extraordinary Australians and New Zealanders will be an ongoing series of podcasts, sharing experiences and stories from people of all walks of life who are Australian or New Zealanders. Whilst we are neighbors, these two great countries are very different from each other. Our landscape, size, cultures, lifestyles vary considerably, and this series will be based around our uniqueness, our ordinariness, interesting people, sharing ours and their lives with you. Jordan Roser, from Brisbane, is considered one of Australia’s up and coming indigenous artists. His work is sought after by followers and fans of his FaceBook page Awake and Dreaming, and also philanthropic groups who see the importance of his work. An amazing effort, as Jordan really only started painting seriously 5-6 years ago. Jordan works full time during the day, and paints his dot work art at his kitchen table in the evenings, sharing feelings and life in his paintings. I really enjoyed chatting to Jordan during a very stormy Brisbane evening and hope you will enjoy this episode. Professional Musician Mark Wilson, from Queenstown New Zealand, has been part of the heart of the Queenstown’s music community for many years. He is a brilliant musician, whether writing and performing his own music, playing gigs with a range of musicians, musical director in theatre, accompanying many a fledgling music student, his ability and enthusiasm abound. I’ve known Mark for 20+ years, mostly through local theatre from when I lived in Queenstown. In this episode, I catch up with Mark after a long absence of conversation and we talk all things Mark Wilson, music and his life. My first episode of G'day Podcasts is with Bev Miles from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. When I first told people of my idea of starting a podcast, sharing real conversations from Australians and New Zealanders, Bev was very supportive of this venture and offered to share her story with me. Bev's story of growing up in rural Queensland, dealing with dyslexia in a time when it wasn't recognized is authentic and heartwarming. In her 70's, Bev has many a tale to tell, with laughter, humility and a true love of life. This podcast will be something Bev will be able to share with her grandsons and preserve her memories for them. So I bring you G’day Podcasts - conversations from ordinary and extraordinary Australians and New Zealanders. We are neighbors and friends. Yes, we are ‘Downunder’ but we are each unique in our indigenous cultures, our landscape, and climate, our size, our history, our day to day lives. In my ongoing series, I will share with you our individual cultures, our completely different geography, introduce innovators, inventors, artists, creators, comedy, influencers, researchers, educators, entertainers all with the authentic flavors of Australia and New Zealand. www.gdaypodcasts.com Credit: Music by Carlton McRae 'Make it Back Home"
