16 episodiosHappy New Year Young World! It has been a hot minute since I've posted a new podcast right? Well, a lot has been going on in the world and in my life since we were together last. I have opened my podcasting up a bit to a broader audience by linking it with my Youth Ministry Drop-In N' Chill. So I will be posting my podcasts on my DINC pages and accounts as well as promoting things that are happening through my podcast. Don't worry though, I will still be broadcasting awesome interviews and sharing some encouraging words and passages that I pray will continue to bring comfort to all of you listening. This episode is my first interview in Drop-In N' Chill's new feature called Youth Spotlight. I will be interviewing youth and young adults who are doing amazing things in and for their community. This interview features a young woman named Rebekah who has started a purse drive in her local town for homeless women. Tune in and take a listen and be inspired!
Have you been given a HARD NO! from God? I have and it broke me. I know it's been a while but I'm so glad you have stuck with me and are here! Take a listen to hear what's been up in my household and about how God's hard no became a true blessing to me. Again, I'm so happy we are together again Young World!
I've been dealing with a lot of hurt and pain lately along with a lot of changes for my family and I and it's just been a crazy couple of weeks! God has been with me through it all and I wanted to share some tips on forgiveness as I've been on this journey lately. My husband and I left our church and with that will come probably some more pain as I share things publicly but I am using my pain to help grow others. Take a listen and I pray that the verses I share will help you on your forgiveness journey.
Growing in New York left him vulnerable to joining a gang, turning to using or selling drugs or even being killed at a young age. My husband Jesus (a.k.a "G") lived in a place where almost everyone felt there was no way out. Why did he not have this mentality? Listen to hear his view of growing up in the Ghetto and what that REALLY means. I see and hear a lot of youth in my city talking about that Ghetto life but they really have no idea what that is and how fortunate they are to NOT live in the Ghetto. God played a major role in my husband's life and I'm excited for all of you to hear his story and to be inspired to strive for a good life no matter where you are now.
It's not THE TALK you think! What this episode is about is the tough conversations people are afraid to have right now about race. We are all being hurt right now. Whether it's by the silence of our non black friends or we are doing the hurting by not communicating with our friends about our pain. It's time to sit down and have a talk. I've got some strategies to help get the conversations going with your parents about their views on racism and on how to forgive if you are hurt by your friends.
