Descripción

Dawn Mayer's nephew sent her mom a Mother's Day card that made them both cry. The word he used over and over: legacy. What are we leaving behind along the way? This Feast of the Ascension, Dawn reflects on the shortest command in all of Scripture — Go! — and why Jesus gave it from Galilee, the place he always went to reach the people on the margins. The disciples still doubted. They had seen everything, and they still weren't sure. And yet Jesus told them to go anyway. So do we have to have it all figured out before we go? No. We just have to go. With this promise: "Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." "Love of a Dad" — Trinity Sunday | Dawn Mayer

Hidden behind a picture frame, Dawn Mayer discovered a letter her grandfather wrote to her father in November 1936 — when her dad was just six months old. A letter full of dreams, prayers, and overwhelming love. A letter her father kept his entire life. That discovery is the heartbeat of this Trinity Sunday reflection. Because John 3:16 — "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son" — is the same kind of letter. A parent's love poured out completely for a child. Dawn reflects on the Most Holy Trinity not as a doctrine to define but as a love to experience: God as life-giving Creator, as redeeming Son, and as the Holy Spirit that unsettles us toward our greatest selves.
