As I have started this podcast journey, I’ve been reading clinical newsletters and blogs that have triggered memories I hadn't thought about in years. I’m sharing a specific memory of carrying tension as an elementary school child. At the time, a doctor dismissed it as tension pain, but reading research has me wondering if that was the early start of a survival mode mindset. While my years in the healthcare field and repetitive motions at work certainly played a role in my nerve compression, I am looking at how internal tension could also be a factor. After reviewing our first few conversations, I noticed a lot of gems that I left out or didn't close off. One of the challenges of being raw and uncut is that my heart often flows faster than my mind can keep up with. I prefer to break the rules and do things my way because that is where the authenticity lives, but excellence requires that we don't build on a shaky foundation. In this episode, we are running it back to conduct a Foundation Audit. I’m bringing clarity to the origins of Honoring M.E. (My Evolution), sharing some "late" realizations about my own history, and being transparent about the bi-weekly schedule we are moving into to keep our excellence high. I am sharing my personal journey with nerve compression and carpal tunnel, a battle I have been fighting since 1999, and how that physical pain finally forced me to get quiet enough to hear the truth. I realized I had reached a blessed age and yet, I hadn't truly lived. I was just a robot in a daily routine of "have-to's." We are talking about taking back the things the enemy came to kill, steal, and destroy. I’m sharing my own "Aha!" moments: from the physical muscle tension that had my nail tech telling me to relax my eyebrows, to the mental fog that had me present in body but completely absent in memory.
