Descripción

Welcome to Bloomsbury Professional’s In Company with Courtney, hosted by Tom Courtney, author of The Law of Companies and consultant with Bloomsbury Professional. In each episode Tom Courtney speaks with a leading light in Irish company law and corporate governance. This podcast is of interest to everyone and anyone with a passing interest in company law, so whether you are a practicing lawyer or accountant, a business person who has to manage your interactions with the Companies Act 2014 or students of company law, I hope you find at least something of interest to you in each episode. In this podcast, Tom is delighted to be joined by Professor Blanaid Clarke, the McCann Fitzgerald Chair in Corporate Law at Trinity College where she lectures on a number of modules including Corporate Governance in the EU, Contract Law and, of course, Company Law. Many listeners who are relatively recently qualified solicitors and barristers will be most familiar with Blanaid as their former teacher of company law! Blanaid’s research interests include governance (corporate governance, fund governance and central bank governance), ethics and takeover law. Blanaid is also Deputy Chair of the Irish Banking Culture Board, Chair of the Irish Corporate Governance Code Advisory Panel, the Irish representative on the OECD’s Corporate Governance Committee and a Vice President of the Academic Board of the European Banking Institute. In the next episode, Tom will be joined by Shelly Horan BL, author of the exceptionally helpful book Corporate Crime the first edition of which was published in 2011 by Bloomsbury Professional and the second edition of which is in preparation. Join us for that in September.
