Indiana Fever Files | with Scott Agness
The Indiana Fever have won three straight games for the second time this season, defeating the Connecticut Sun 85-75 on Saturday. It was closer than the score suggests, just a two-point game with two minutes left. But then Sophie Cunningham scored the team's final 11 points -- in her first game back at the site where she suffered a torn MCL 10 months ago. Caitlin Clark led all with 25 points, going 5 of 10 from 3-point range. She picked up a technical foul with 22.2 seconds left, though it was unclear what she said or did to earn it. Five Indiana players finished in double figures as Kelsey Mitchell scored 19 and Aliyah Boston added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. There's still plenty of room for growth from the Fever. They committed 19 turnovers, leading to 25 points, and they surrendered a double-digit lead in a fourth straight game. Their lead was nine at half after holding the Sun to just nine points in the second quarter. They improved to 8-5 this season and 4-1 in Commissioner's Cup play with their next game on Tuesday against the Toronto Tempo. That begins a stretch with five of their next six games at home over the next two weeks. ----- Follow Scott on Twitter [https://twitter.com/ScottAgness] and Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/scottagness/], and read his work on fieldhousefiles.com [https://www.fieldhousefiles.com/].
