Descripción

As this year comes to a close, I wanted to share an episode that gets to the heart of why this podcast exists. Real change doesn’t start out there. It starts inside. In this episode, I talk about the importance of doing our own inner work — noticing the stories we carry, especially from earlier in life, and choosing to engage with them instead of letting them quietly run the show. I share what has helped me most over the past several years, including therapy, learning to separate facts from old fears, identifying my values, and understanding that other people’s behavior is often about their own pain — not ours. We talk about: * Why awareness is the first step to real change * How old patterns can show up in our reactions today * The power of slowing down when we feel triggered * Letting go of what isn’t ours to carry * Building a bench of resources that support growth I also leave you with a few gentle reflection questions you can carry with you — no pressure to fix anything, just an invitation to notice. This is a grounding, honest episode to help you close the year with more clarity, compassion, and intention.

episode Why We Show Up the Way We Do At Work artwork

Why We Show Up the Way We Do At Work

In this episode, I explore the idea that the way we lead, communicate, and respond at work is often the intersection of our life experiences, our level of self-awareness, and the work we’ve done to process those experiences. Our early environments, the leaders we’ve worked with, and the messages we received growing up all shape the patterns we bring into the workplace—sometimes in ways we don’t immediately recognize. I also share a personal example of my own journey with learning to be more assertive. Growing up, speaking up wasn’t really encouraged. Over time, I realized that pattern was showing up in my professional life, and becoming more aware of it allowed me to start changing it. In this conversation, we’ll talk about: * How our experiences influence our leadership and workplace behaviors * Why self-awareness is a critical leadership skill * How unprocessed experiences can show up in our work relationships * Why doing the inner work can help us lead more intentionally This episode is an invitation to reflect on the patterns we carry into our work and how greater awareness can help us show up with more intention, courage, and authenticity.

How to Advocate for Yourself at Work: Support, Growth, and Compensation

Advocating for yourself at work isn’t easy — but it’s one of the most important skills you can build if you want to grow your career with confidence. In this episode of Inside Work with Lindy: Helping you grow and lead with confidence, I’m sharing practical ways to speak up for what you need at work — whether it’s support, training, or fair compensation — and how to handle it if the answer is “not yet.” You’ll learn:  ✔️ How to ask for the resources or clarity you need to do your best work  ✔️ When and how to ask for training or development opportunities  ✔️ Smart, respectful ways to approach compensation conversations — including how to research salary ranges and come prepared  ✔️ What to do (and how to stay confident) if your request isn’t approved right away This is something I’ve personally worked on — and continue to practice — and I’ve learned that advocating for yourself isn’t about being demanding; it’s about being intentional. It’s about knowing your value, communicating clearly, and taking ownership of your career growth. 🎧 Tune in to Inside Work with Lindy and learn how to approach these conversations with confidence, courage, and clarity.
