Descripción

Most of us don't set out to be self-focused, but when life gets full and stress runs high, the people around us can start to feel like interruptions rather than opportunities. This week we explore what it means to live in the way of Jesus — who modeled true greatness by washing his disciples' feet and giving his life for others. Drawing from Philippians 2, John 13, and Mark 10:45, we're challenged to trade the question "What do I want?" for a deeper one: "What does love require of me?" Because your life is most meaningful when someone else benefits from it — and people aren't a distraction from the point. They are the point.

Beyond Ourselves | First and Best

In the final week of First & Best, we discover that this series was never really about money — it was about one question: do I really trust God with every part of my life? "Beyond Ourselves" lands the whole series on a single idea: God gives to us so He can give through us. Working through 2 Corinthians 9, we look at Paul's picture of bread and seed — bread is what God gives to meet our needs, seed is what He gives to create a harvest — and the mistake of eating all the seed because we assume everything God provides is only for us. This isn't about guilt, pressure, or comparison. Paul is clear: each of us decides in our own heart, and the point isn't equal gifts but equal surrender. We give with open hands because God gave His first and best to us first — not His leftovers, but Himself. Wherever you are, there's a next step: from nothing to something, something to proportional, proportional to generous.

The God Who Provides | First and Best

In Week 2 of First & Best, we get specific about the practice God uses to train our trust: the tithe. "The God Who Provides" tackles the question that makes most of us tighten up — can I really trust God with my money? — and reframes it entirely. The tithe isn't about God needing something from us; it's about God forming something in us. Working through Jesus' warning against greed in Luke 12, the trust invitation of Malachi 3, and Jesus' words in Luke 11, we name the thing hiding behind our hesitation: money makes a convincing god, but a terrible one. This isn't a guilt trip or a prosperity gimmick — it's an honest look at how giving our first and best rewires our hearts to trust the God who actually provides. Wherever you are, there's a next step: from nothing to something, something to proportional, proportional to generous.
