Descripción

As an early-onset dementia caregiver, it can feel almost impossible to imagine experiencing joy in the middle of the grief, uncertainty, exhaustion, and constant change that caregiving brings. But what if joy was never meant to come from your circumstances? What if true joy and peace are found in Christ alone? In this episode, we are talking about what it means to simply surviving this caregiving journey and begin walking in the peace, hope, and purpose that only Jesus can provide. Tonya Lynn shares how our identity is not found in burnout, fear, overwhelm, or the roles we carry, but in being daughters of the King and anchored in the truth of who God says He is. We discuss how God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and how nothing about your caregiving journey surprises Him. When we yoke ourselves to Christ instead of trying to carry everything in our own strength, our burdens become lighter because we were never meant to walk this road alone. This episode will encourage you to: • Find joy rooted in Christ instead of circumstances • Trust God’s character even when life feels uncertain • Re-anchor your identity in who Christ says you are • See caregiving as part of your calling and purpose • Learn how to surrender your burdens daily to Jesus • Stop living in survival mode and begin thriving spiritually Scriptures Mentioned Habakkuk 3:17–18 Isaiah 26:3 1 Peter 2:9 John 4:13–14 Colossians 3:23–24 Matthew 11:28–30 Connect with Tonya Lynn Join the Facebook community: Living with EOD: Biblical Solutions for Caregiver Burnout https://www.facebook.com/groups/836799308440926 [https://www.facebook.com/groups/836799308440926] Subscribe to the weekly newsletter, Hope on Repeat, for biblical encouragement, caregiver support, and practical faith-filled strategies delivered straight to your inbox each week. https://day2daywithtonyalynn.systeme.io/newsletter [https://day2daywithtonyalynn.systeme.io/newsletter] If this episode encouraged you, please take a moment to leave a review on Apple Podcasts and share this episode with another caregiver who may need hope and encouragement today. 60. When You Feel Like You're Losing Yourself: Finding Your Identity Beyond Early Onset Dementia Caregiving

Has caregiving become your entire identity? When your days revolve around doctor's appointments, medications, behaviors, finances, and simply making it through another day, it's easy to forget who you are beyond the role of caring for your loved one. In this episode, Tonya Lynn shares a powerful reminder that caregiving is something you do, not who you are. God created you with purpose long before early onset dementia entered your life. While caregiving may be your current assignment, your identity has always been rooted in Christ. You are His beloved daughter, chosen, loved, equipped, and called to reflect His light in this difficult season. If you've ever felt like you've lost yourself along this journey, this episode will encourage you to rediscover the unshakable identity that no diagnosis can ever take away. In This Episode, You'll Learn: • Why your caregiving role is an assignment, not your identity. • How the enemy uses burnout and overwhelm to distort your identity. • Why your worth is never based on your productivity or performance. • How Jesus modeled healthy rhythms of rest and renewal. • Practical ways to reconnect with who God says you are and live with faith, strength, and purpose. Key Scriptures 1 Peter 2:9 "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession..." Colossians 3:3 "For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God." Matthew 11:28 through 30 "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works..." Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord... This Week's Challenge Before you begin each day, pause and remind yourself of who you are in Christ before you focus on everything you have to do. Speak these truths over your life: "I am God's daughter." "I am chosen." "I am deeply loved." "I am forgiven." "I am equipped for today." Then choose one life giving activity this week that renews your heart and helps you reconnect with the woman God created you to be. Remember, your identity is never defined by your circumstances. It is anchored in Christ. 58. Trusting God When Early Onset Dementia Takes More Away | Hidden Grief Series (Part 4)

Some weeks, Early Onset Dementia feels like it just keeps taking. Another conversation. Another ability. Another piece of your marriage. Another part of the future you thought you would have. And if we're honest, it can feel unfair. It can make us angry, sad, scared, exhausted, and even tempted to wonder if God is punishing us. In Part 4 of The Hidden Grief Series, we're having an honest conversation about what dementia takes away and how we keep trusting God when the losses continue. This episode does not minimize the pain. Instead, it brings every emotion before the Lord and anchors our hope in the only One dementia can never take from us: Jesus. In this episode, you'll learn: • Why it is okay to be honest with God about your grief, anger, fear, and sadness • How to recognize the lie that suffering means God is punishing you • Why anger is not automatically sin, but must be surrendered to God • How Scripture meets us in fear, exhaustion, unfairness, and ongoing loss • Why our hope is not rooted in present circumstances, but in eternity with Jesus Scripture Featured Psalm 13 – Bringing honest questions before God Ephesians 4:26–27 – Bringing anger under God's authority Isaiah 41:10 – God's presence in fear Matthew 11:28 – Rest for the weary Romans 8:1 – No condemnation in Christ Proverbs 3:5–6 – Trusting God when we do not understand Lamentations 3:22–23 – New mercies every morning Revelation 21:4 – The promise that one day every tear will be wiped away Resources Mentioned Join our free Facebook community: Living with EOD: Biblical Solutions for Caregiver Burnout https://www.facebook.com/groups/836799308440926 [https://www.facebook.com/groups/836799308440926] Subscribe to the Hope on Repeat weekly newsletter for biblical encouragement, practical caregiving strategies, and weekly support created specifically for Christian wives caring for husbands with Early Onset Dementia. https://day2daywithtonyalynn.systeme.io/newsletter [https://day2daywithtonyalynn.systeme.io/newsletter] If this episode encouraged you...
