Acerca de Mumcast: The Rick Mummey Show
On the Mumcast, Rick Mummey, long time radio personality, musician, and arts aficionado seeks to find out what makes creative people tick, and to help listeners find artists and musicians they may not have heard or seen before. He'll have special guests and episodes that are straight conversations with the audience via social media, interviews, and the odd monologue from Rick. Rick has musician and artist friends all over the country, and in his hometown in Indiana. Every episode will feature original music, and most will feature interviews with interesting, creative people. It will hopefully become a cultural exchange between Rick's home base in the Midwest, and the world. Listeners can interact with the show on our Facebook Rick Mummey Podcast page, and via our website, rickmum.com. On the site, Rick's blog will usually be linked to the podcast, and will feature additional interview material, and a written perspective on the shows' subject matter. Rick will also blog about other subjects beyond the show, and listeners can send comments, and musicians their original music to mumcast@rickmum.com. We hope you'll enjoy the show at Dr. Will's Neighborhood, drwill.com, and that you'll check out the website at rickmum.com. Let's have some fun!
Kyle Bledsoe Delivers
Kyle Bledsoe, outstanding guitarist, has a new band and music. We talk about the new tunes, and about being a pro musician with a family.
#72 My Music/Your Music
On this episode, I turned to two favorite people of mine, Dr. Will Miller, a frequent flyer on the Bob and Tom radio show, minister, stand-up comic, counselor. He talked about an early special album, and a U2 concert experience. Then Joe Peters talks about some high school special music, and the thrill of being able to become a musical influence himself.
Live Shows-Your Opinion
There's always plenty of discussion about the health of live music and its venues. Any town's music scene will have some ebb and flow, certainly. I asked folks on Facebook and Instagram to opine about what makes them decide to go or not go to a live show. Is it venue? Start time? End time? Price? The acts themselves? Quality of publicity? Some combination of all these. We talked about their responses, and gave some thoughts of our own directed to venues, acts, and the General Public. We concluded withy music from a group that did a fantastic show locally, sponsored by one of the premier organizations in our area for bringing in shows. Feel free to comment at mumcast@rickmum.com
No Time To Hate
"No Time to Hate" is a multi-group concert aimed at showing that our community has no time to hate or discriminate. We spoke to Chris Lee of the Dead cover band Graciously Departed, and heard music from Sheeza, an original band from Lafayette IN.
#69 Nine Hours with Jason Wells
Jason Wells is a guitar phenom who has been taking his music around the country for several years now. He's brought all that experience, along with three other superb musicians to his new release "Nine Hours".
