Today we continue a multi-week series on one of the most hotly contested passages in the Bible: 1 Timothy 2:8-15. There Are Two Genders, Not One

How do we approach difficult passages? What was Pauls intent? How are men and women the same? And different? Two views: Complementarian https://cbmw.org Egalitarian - https://www.cbeinternational.org Summary Statement: Men and women have equal value before God, and God has given them unique natures, roles, and responsibilities within the home and church. Leadership roles are reserved for men, as demonstrated in both OT NT patterns and teaching. All believing women and men are charged with a wide range of good works outlined in scripture and suited to Gods design for gender strengths. This structure is prescribed for the household of God. While these gender role differences are anecdotally observed in secular contexts, scriptural gender roles are not enforced there. Scripture opposes any view that undermines the dignity of either men or women.
