NGL Bruh
In this episode of NGL Bruh, we're checking in mentally and emotionally before diving into a real and necessary conversation about mental health—especially for Black men. We talk about how society claims to value mental health, but when it comes to Black men, the expectation is still to stay silent, stay strong, or struggle in isolation. There's rarely space for anything in between, and even less conversation around how to actually take care of our minds. We break down the difference between mental health awareness and real mental health education, and why just talking about it isn't enough if we're not given the tools to navigate it. We unpack how the idea of "being strong" can actually be harmful when it replaces vulnerability instead of supporting it, and how doing the inner work is what truly builds strength and helps break cycles of generational trauma and silence. And of course, we end with our Ask Ya Bruh question: What would it look like if emotional health was taught to Black boys the same way we teach them to be tough? Let us know what you think in the comments! Not gonna lie bruh… you're gonna wanna hear this.
