His powerful words moved the room to tears—yet just a few years later, under intense pressure and imprisonment by the British, Duché faltered. This forgotten piece of American history teaches us a critical lesson: any person in leadership—whether in government, the church, a business, or a family—is under immense pressure to compromise.
