Charting His Course: John Pullen’s Journey Through Career Changes to Return to the Cockpit

In this episode, we dive into the remarkable journey of John Pullen, a Navy pilot whose path took unexpected turns before he found his true calling. After leaving the military, John faced the shock of 9/11, which led to the loss of his airline job and forced him to navigate a challenging job market. Transitioning into medical sales, he found himself unhappy despite settling into a new home with his family. Realizing his dissatisfaction, John took another role in the Seattle area, but it still didn’t fulfill him. At 49, driven by resilience and a deep passion for flying, John reapplied to become an airline pilot. His journey, marked by perseverance and sacrifice, ultimately led him to become an international pilot, proving that with determination and following one's true passion, one can overcome significant obstacles and achieve their dreams. ________________________________________________________ Interested in our soulful retreat coming in 2025? From Heartbreak to Healing: Taylor's Journey Through Grief, Loss, and New Beginnings

Today, we are joined by our guest Taylor, who first appeared on Season 1, Episode 12, a year ago, sharing the heart-wrenching story of losing her husband just two months into their marriage. His sudden passing shattered her world, leaving her to navigate not only the loss of her new husband but also the life they were building together—their home, their dog, their routines, and even the memories of their wedding day. As we approach the three-year mark since Gordy’s passing, Taylor candidly reflects on the various phases of grief she has encountered along the way. In this episode, Taylor shares the deep personal growth she has experienced since her last appearance on our show. While she acknowledges the progress she’s made, she also recognizes the lingering pain in certain areas of her life. Recently, Taylor has taken the brave step of entering the world of dating, bringing with her a new perspective on love and healing.  This episode is a journey through the phases of grief, as Taylor shares her story with the hope of inspiring those who may feel like they'll never move past the pain. She reminds us that healing is possible, and though the heaviness of grief may never fully disappear, it does become lighter with time. Taylor’s message is clear: happiness is our birthright, and while loss may change us, it doesn’t have to stop us. We can commit to healing, understanding, and embracing life once again.
