Gospel-Centered Repentance Throws Itself Completely on God’s Mercy (Psalm 51:1-2) Application: We come empty-handed, trusting that God’s mercy is our only hope—and that is enough. 2. Gospel-Centered Repentance Confesses Sin as Deeply Rooted in the Heart (Psalm 51:3-6) Application: “What does this reveal about what I love, fear, or trust more than God?” 3. Gospel-Centered Repentance Is First and Greatest Toward God (Psalm 51:4) Application: We will never truly hate sin until we grieve what it does to our relationship with God. 4. Gospel-Centered Repentance Cries Out for a New Heart God Alone Can Give (Psalm 51:7-12) Application: What David longed for has been accomplished in Jesus: forgiveness through the cross, cleansing by His blood, and renewal by the Spirit. No sin is too deep, no heart too broken, for God to restore.
