Descripción

In October of 1978, Frederick Valentich flew from the mainland of Australia to a nearby island. Along the way, he encountered an aircraft that began following him. He radioed to air traffic control, but they said nothing was supposed to be there. When asked if he could identify the craft, he merely replied, “It’s not an aircraft.” Then his voice cut off, and all that was heard was a metallic scraping noise. No one ever saw him or his plane ever again. We’ll explore who Frederick Valentich was, what happened, and the theories. Join us as we dive deep into The Disappearance of Frederick Valentich!

The Philadelphia Experiment/The Montauk Project

In 1943, the US Navy conducted an experiment that some believe pushed the bounds of reality. According to legend, when they attempted to make a ship invisible, they accidentally teleported it away and back, leading to horrifying repercussions for the men aboard. Over 40 years later, a man named Preston Nichols began recovering repressed memories of a secret government project at an officially abandoned Cold War facility, working to amplify psychic abilities in hopes of unlocking mind control and time travel. It sounded far-fetched until more men came forward. This week, we’ll examine both of these events, how they may be connected, and whether or not to believe either of them actually took place. Join us, as we examine both the Philadelphia Experiment and the Montauk Project!

episode The Silurian Hypothesis artwork

The Silurian Hypothesis

What if mankind were not the first advanced civilization on Earth? Would we be able to detect the remnants of a culture a million years before our own? A 2018 paper authored by an astrophysicist and a climate scientist asked these questions and presented the evidence we might look for. Massive carbon spikes in the geological record from industrial emissions. Atomic signatures of nuclear activity from a billion years ago. Both sound impossible, except that we have found both of those exactly. We’ll cover the men behind the paper, the hypothesis itself, how the evidence lines up with the biggest anomalies in the geological record, and try to decide if an advanced pre-human civilization really walked the earth. Join us as we examine The Silurian Hypothesis!
