Descripción

“Patience.” It sounds beautiful… until you actually need it. In today’s episode, we’re talking about what biblical patience REALLY looks like in motherhood, marriage, hard seasons, and our walk with God. Because patience is not pretending everything is okay or never feeling frustrated. Biblical patience is continuing to trust God even when life makes no sense and His timing feels painfully slow. Today we look at two powerful examples from the Bible: * Job — who trusted God through deep suffering and confusion * Abraham — who waited years for God’s promises to come true Through their stories, we’ll talk about: * why patience is so difficult * what waiting seasons produce in us * how suffering can strengthen faith * trusting God when prayers feel unanswered * patience in motherhood and everyday life * and how God remains faithful even in delays If you’ve been feeling weary, reactive, discouraged, emotionally exhausted, or frustrated in a waiting season, this episode is for you. Friend, maybe God isn’t ignoring you… maybe He’s growing something deeper in you. 53. Finding Hope After Child Loss | A Christian Mother's Story with Jill Sullivan

What happens when every parent's worst nightmare becomes reality? In this deeply moving episode, I sit down with Jill Sullivan to talk about the loss of her daughter Hannah, who was diagnosed with glioblastoma brain cancer at just 16 years old and passed away one year later at the age of 17. Jill shares Hannah's incredible faith, the difficult journey through diagnosis and treatment, and the heartbreaking reality of learning to live after the loss of a child. We discuss how grief impacted her faith, marriage, and family, as well as the questions so many grieving parents wrestle with: Why did this happen? Where is God in our suffering? How do we keep moving forward when our hearts are broken? Jill also shares how God used her family's story to launch While We're Waiting, a ministry that now provides free retreats, support groups, and biblical encouragement for bereaved parents across the United States and beyond. In this episode, we discuss: ❤️ Hannah's story and her courageous faith journey ❤️ Navigating grief after losing a child ❤️ The impact of child loss on marriage and family relationships ❤️ Trusting God when answers don't come ❤️ Scriptures that brought comfort during suffering ❤️ Common misconceptions about grief and marriage after child loss ❤️ How friends and family can support grieving parents ❤️ The mission and growth of While We're Waiting ministry Whether you have experienced loss personally, love someone who is grieving, or simply want to better understand how to support hurting families, this conversation is filled with biblical truth, compassion, and hope. Do you ever feel like you're fighting a losing battle as a mom? Whether you're a stay-at-home mom or a working mom, the pressure can feel overwhelming. But what if we've been focusing on the wrong thing? In today's episode, we're talking about what happens when motherhood becomes our identity instead of Christ. We'll discuss why God calls us to put Him first, how to ask God to reveal hidden idols in our lives, and why focusing on our relationship with Him can actually make us better moms. If you've been feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, discouraged, or like you're constantly falling short, this episode is for you.
