Podcast de Jeremy Hinks
Welcome to Sticky Jazz, the music show of a Million different opinions on music. I am Jeremy Hinks, a "Gonzo" music journalist in Salt Lake City Utah, I am also the music editor at large for the LGBTQ publication instinct magazine, (nice of them to let a straight guy write for them isn't it?) I will give you the music you might have heard, might not have heard, but definitely should have heard. I'll give you interviews with some big names, some new people, and someone you heard long ago, and they still are kicking. No music is taboo on my show, I'll cover it all. If you like what I do, Please consider sending a donation to help pay for the production, and advertisement of the show. patreon | facebook | twitter | email #musicjournalism #musicinterviews #gonzojournalism

There are some bands you just get into, and you never fall out of love with them from that first moment. I got into The Dusbowl Faeries on the relase of their album "The Plague Garden" that they wrote all around the pandemic. I took a deep dive into their work, and have it all still feels as current as it did when I first heard it. Their work is timeless, but also, this TIME around, they talk about TIME. The new EP "Carnival Dust" is a magnificent effort, that really shows the visual arts they want to show you, as well as the music. It's eerie feel of a SteamPunk slice of time, where they play accordion, a saw, guitar, violin, and , well, they play with your head too. I got to talk to Ryder and Lisa about their visual, the music, the inspiration, and the message behind it all, and there is so much to take in. Should you ever get to see the Faeries live, it will be the experience of a lifeTIME. (A quick note, one of their songs off a previous album called "The Field [https://youtu.be/wp7q2zHxU84]" is so wonderful I want it performed at my funeral, nuff said about this fabulous band). instagram [https://www.instagram.com/dustbowlfaeries/] website [https://l.instagram.com/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dustbowlfaeries.com%2F&e=AT0YavS_AMPxbFMdUxu6hlYitaX2h92suL-i91HOfF9d8eFz5L8Y5vyHO4N-6SrzyKHaV9HiWNvTudig6Fb8Q4AJKlXTwbfe8Qa20w] spotify [https://open.spotify.com/album/2pivKzA8ivXsQZuRlMRBlM] youtube [https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_n-jjyEVhmyPjrWGa3V5SS_9O6MrNwDRMU] #dustbowlfaeries #gothicsteampunk #steampunk #darkpolka #polka #darkcarnivalmusic

If there is anyone who can say they have done it all, it's Mark Bingham, the guitarist, producer, engineer, songwriter, and music industry staple. He has been making music since the late 60s, and worked with more musicians than he has ever gotten credit for. He started in a really great band "The Screaming Gypsy Bandits" and moved on to record and produce with everyone who ever crossed his studio threshold. His newest album "Mushroom Crowd" is not actually about the psychedlic experience, but that Mushrooms have their own neural networks and how they connect and communicate with eachother underground with complex neural structures. What else can I say, this guy is a genius. Enjoy everyone. https://markbingham.bandcamp.com/ [https://markbingham.bandcamp.com/] http://pietystreet.com/ [http://pietystreet.com/] Mark Bingham #gavinfriday #elviscostello #captainbeefheart #frankzappa #whitneyhouston #kettleonevodka #johnclayton #theresidents #homerflynn #flatduojets #tomwaits #screaminggypsybandits #fluketheband #syntax #yokoono #taylorswift This episode is dedicated to my tech mentor and friend Fred R. So, I have had plenty of time to be annoyed by Christmas Music, I feel that I should share that with all of you. AND who better to do this with than the Broadway performer Gabrielle Ruiz. She has been known to the world as "Valencia" on the mock musical TV series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend", she is the vulcan T'Lyn in Star Trek's "Lower Deck" and Spidey and His Amazing Friends” Having just released her new Christmas single "Twinkle Twinkle" we took to roasting Christmas Music, American Idol, Mariah Carey, and all that other annoying stuff you hear 12 minutes before midnight Thanksgiving and can't get over it till mid February. We had the most enjoyable time talking about all these subjects, and her music. Nothing was sacred (as you will learn listening to her work) emjoy everyone. Stella Rose is an rising multifaceted artist. She grew up in a VERY musical family, and took on making her own music recently. The has incredible depth into what she is writing and thinking about, so by the time you hear it, it has been through many many layers of the thought process. THEN there are her videos. Her videos are like several full length feature films compressed into 5 minutes. There is a great deal of symbolism in the elements you see, but don't try and take it in all at once, hit replay a few times, then go back to it a few days later. She knows exactly where she is taking you with her music, and visuals and production, I can only imagine what she will do on stage. instagram [https://tellallyourfriendspr.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=63f1674ecdb2a4574b77e600b&id=3c6b7c08a0&e=010f32b8c0] Angel [https://tellallyourfriendspr.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=63f1674ecdb2a4574b77e600b&id=eecbb0be6d&e=010f32b8c0] muddled man [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4P6VdyR_sU] #industrialmusicvides #stellarose #visualperformanceart #yvesrothman #primordialfreaks #femalevocalists #stellarose_gahan #dustbowlfaeries #gothichorrormusic #depechemode #industrialmusicvideos #muddledman

From the Avant-Garde tribe of New York City, if you ever needed to know if the movement of performance art is still alive, well, Eszter Balint is proof of that. Born in Hungary, she has lived in New York City for decades, and has been "boots on the ground" making music to inspire you. She considers the violin her "Weapon of choice" as she delivers sometimes dark, but ever inpsiring music, just making you think, where you have been and what significant thing you can do today with what you know. We bantered about Hungarian History, performing with David Bowie, and her lack of interest in science fiction. Her new album "I Hate Memory" is a powerful reflective piece that will be performing live at the "Under The Radar" festival in January at Joes Pub (with plenty of other artists as well). Dig in, there is a lot to unpack with Eszter Balint, no looking back. soundcloud [https://soundcloud.com/eszterbalint-music] youtube [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5QpFn4KmtGq8obV6aqxp1w] facebook [http://www.eszterbalint.com/] twitter [https://twitter.com/eszterbalint1] Under the radar [https://publictheater.org/programs/under-the-radar/under-the-radar-2023/] #eszterbalint #davidbowie #jimjarmusch #stevebuscemi #thechelseahotel #jeanmichellebasquiat #postpunk
